Micro Wedding in Mossy Greens and Peach at Root Down Jax

Small Wedding Green

Micro weddings are probably the best of all worlds when it comes to wedding style. It is a little more than an elopement if you do not want to compromise having your family present BUT it is NOT a massive wedding with a giant reception – jump for more!

Flora + Fauna and The Wilding Collective dreamed up of the perfect micro wedding that could also be an elopement, with a tropical but deep color palette that goes so well with any destination in Florida.

So what’s a Micro Wedding?

You don’t have to have an over-the-top budget to have your dream wedding, but taming your guest list from the get-go is the #1 way to take control of your wedding budget. That’s doesn’t mean you have to nix your entire guest list and elope either. Enter the micro wedding: a wedding with your closest friends and family members (operating word here is closest!).

Micro weddings can be destination weddings, but that’s not always the case. You can plan for a micro wedding right near everyone you love too. Here are some golden questions to yourself when curating your guest list to get your wheels turning.

From Jenn Sullivan of Flora + Fauna: A lot of people ask us if our names are Flora and Fauna. We wish! Our business name, Flora + Fauna means plants and animals in Latin. We really fell in love with this as a representation of our business because find so much inspiration in nature. When curating an editorial shoot, we always look to the world around us. For this editorial, we looked to the rawness of the earth. Naturally, we were inspired by the tones of moss, soil, and clay. If you’re a Florida native like us, you might have memories of playing with orange clay as a kid! We used the color inspiration to pull together an editorial shoot that felt urban, yet still connected to nature
