Mexican Ranch Wedding Ideas
Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner, and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than bringing you some Mexican-inspired wedding inspiration from Inkspot Photography! This shoot is jam-packed with great ideas, from the wooden wedding signs to the arrangements of cactus and aloe vera. Diablo Ranch in California provided the ideal backdrop for the visions of the styling team.
From the photographer, Elise of Inkspot Photography: We wanted to come up with a trendsetting styled shoot to inspire couples planning their own weddings in this upcoming season. Our stylist Mariko thought, what better idea than a Mexico-meets-Western wedding with a classic spin? We were thrilled to be able to photograph this lovely affair at Diablo Ranch in Walnut Creek, CA on Mount Diablo. The fog rolled in through the hills on this February day and made for perfect soft light.
We chose an intimate setting surrounded by hay bales for the guests to watch our bride and groom get hitched. We covered them with authentic Mexican wool blankets, and surrounded them with collected colored pottery and a custom made chiffon ceremony backdrop. From there the couple headed over to hit their gold pinata and get the fiesta started!
The reception tabletop was covered in romantic Mexican prayer candles and glass vases filled with pinto beans, flowers and cactus. Bee Curious Designs created our barn wood “Senor & Senora” chair signs tied up with raffia string and we loved utilizing the ranch’s very own vintage saloon bench to complete our table for four. Each guest got to take home their very own raw wood maraca favors! And of course what would a fiesta reception be without a dessert table featuring, churros, lime margarita cupcakes, and hand painted Mexican doll cake toppers? The ranch’s very own retired racehorse “Big Red River” wanted to get in on the fun and cuddled with the happy couple in his floral wreath!
