Melbourne Rooftop Wedding with a Paolo Sebastian Gown
We’re starting off the week starry-eyed over Tom and Lisa’s Melbourne wedding with the prettiest blush bridal gown we ever did see. Catch those iridescent doves? Sheer genius! There’s nothing but the best foot forward as far as texture and color are concerned here. From the teal velvet chairs to the tall wheat centerpieces, we feel luxurious just admiring this scene.
Not to be dramatic, but our hearts skipped a few too many beats after first glimpsing these images from Jess of Elk & Willow. Whimsy and glam converge across every shot, and we can’t wait for you to explore more.
Let’s talk about these flowers from Ambrosia Floral Designs for a minute – orchids, jasmine, andromeda, silver leaf cinneraria and a touch of pampass. We’d say this is the recipe for an arrangement plucked from Heaven!
We could spot this bridesmaid label in any crowd – Needle & Thread is known for their femme, vintage-inspired and intricately beaded gowns, and these lavender numbers sure don’t disappoint!
Fans of color wedding dresses, look this way!
Officiated by Kate Morgan, Tom and Lisa’s ceremony was pretty unforgettable.
How gorge is Lisa’s top knot from Maree Brigante with glamorous makeup that’s striking and smooth.
Okay back to this Paolo Sebastian gown – couture with a touch of contemporary edge, we’re pretty sure this number takes the cake for most mesmerizing bridal gown.
Speaking of cake, this edible art from Sweet Bakes is speckled with icing and sculptured frosting in the most marveous way.
Let’s hear from the bride, shall we?
What style and feel did you envision for your wedding?
Right from the get-go we envisioned a whimsical theme with a touch of elegance. As my dress was a soft dusty pink colour, we wanted to bring in soft colour touches into our reception. We opted for soft/pastel pink florals but didn’t want to go overboard as we wanted to let our reception space to speak for itself with its amazing loft feel and city views.
Tell us about your flower arrangements!
For the ceremony, every second table had a tall vase made up of tall Pampus flowers and pink flowers (sorry can’t remember exactly what the pink flowers were) but they were a very loose, tall arrangement to give that whimsical, forest/woodland feel. The other tables had a clear open square lantern box that had 3 candles insides of them and they were surrounded by silver leaf leaves. Our bridal table had gold modern candlesticks from The Small Things Co sitting in amongst a pink floral garland down the middle of our table which was the perfect and simple whimsical look we were going for.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
We would say to honestly enjoy the process! Even though the planning process can be stressful at times, you do miss it so definitely take each moment in. The wedding day honestly will flash before your eyes so again take a moment to yourselves and take everything in and really just enjoy yourselves as all the hard work planning your special day will be all worth it.
What songs did you play for your wedding?
Bridesmaid Processional: Thinking Out Loud (Ed Sheeran)
Bridal Processional: The Wedding Medley (Foster and Allen)
Registry Signing: I’m Yours (Jason Mraz)
First Dance: Then I Kissed Her (The Beach Boys)
Dance Floor Opener: Brown Eyed Girl (Van Morrison)
Father/Daughter Dance: Pizziricco (The Mavericks)
Our whole wedding was everything we planned for and more. We wanted all our guest to have an experience from the moment they arrived which Luminare provided with their amazing city views, service and food, but most of all we wanted everyone to have a fabulous time which we believe everyone did.
