Luxury English Estate Wedding Inspiration
We’re taking you all on a journey today to the lovely English countryside where Philippa Sian Photography has brought to life the most luxurious purple-and-grey hued wedding shoot. The location has those sprawling and picturesque landscapes you’d find on an English estate as beautiful as this one, and Violets and Velvet knew that complementing the whole mood of the shoot with equally-gorgeous, garden-style floral centerpieces was key. Our excitement over this shoot cannot be contained!
From the photographer and event designer, Philippa Sian Photography: Mixing the classic with the new – that’s what this luxury inspirational shoot embodies. With Wrest Park, an English Heritage grade I-listed country estate as the stunning backdrop to this romantic shoot, we were able to complement the grandeur with a feminine and modern look.
When designing the look and concept of the shoot, I knew that I wanted grey to play a big part. Grey is such a versatile and stylish colour and I’ve started to see grey table linens appear more and more. I wanted to build on this and add a mix of feminine colours to deliver this grey colour trend in a really new way.
Before I had decided on the full colour palette, the lovely Maria-Antonia from Duchess & Butler and I were discussing her luxury hire collection and she showed me her beautiful Valentina charger plates; a lux pink with gold embellishment. She has such a good eye for colour and showed how mixing colours with your tablewear can work really well. In this case she suggested her Audrey purple glasswear to sit alongside the pink and gold charger plates and there it was! All of a sudden we had our colour palette! Grey and gold with highlights of pink and purple; a stylish, on trend look mixed and delivered in a really fresh way.
We wanted to create a real wedding look for this shoot, and so Duchess & Butler set the table for 22 place settings. We used gorgeous grey linen and candles, beautiful pink and gold charger plates, purple and pink glasswear with flashes of gold in the cutlery and candelabras. The chairs were covered in delicate gold lace chair covers which added to our embellished and romantic styling, all provided by Duchess & Butler. Beautiful menus and place settings in a soft grey and gold foil from The Whistle Press added the finishing touches.
Wild and blousy floral displays in urns adorned the table, with a delicate green garland running the length of the table. The fireplace was draped in a mesmerising floral display which created the most stunning backdrop for our table setting and our couple.
The bridal bouquet was given the same swoon worthy treatment, with trailing, romantic passion flowers mixed with delicate buds and blousy florals. Beautiful ribbon from Lancaster & Cornish in deep greys and gold foiled dusky tones completed the bouquet’s luxury and romantic look.
Floral favour cases with delicate truffles inside by Villa Dolce which were dotted on each place setting. These tasty truffles also made up our luxury sweet table accompanied by the beautiful cake from Wild Flower Cakes, with gorgeous hand written calligraphy labels from Oh Wonder Calligraphy tied together with dreamy gold foiled silk ribbon from Lancaster & Cornish.
The Whistle Press provided beautiful hand crafted stationery for the shoot, using beautiful grey and white papers with gold foil text. Oh Wonder Calligraphy added some romance with handwritten calligraphy envelopes, love letters and romantic quotes on a vintage mirror.
Our lovely bride and model, Rebecca, wore two stunning dresses from London bridal boutique, Heart Aflutter Bridal Boutique who specialise in unique, stylish and exciting bridal wear. Both dresses encompassed the dreamy and embellished feel of the shoot, with the first gold embroidered dress, ‘Heart of Gold’ by designer Claire La Faye and the second, a floaty soft grey editorial dress, ‘Alexandra’ by designer Truvelle. Both looks were accessorised with ‘Amy Leaf’ hair accessories from Tilly Thomas Lux and beautiful ivory shoes from Love Art Wear Art. Rebecca’s look was perfected with natural makeup and a loose romantic updo by Patricia Soper.
Our groom, Luke, wore a classy and dapper 3 piece Mohair Berwick suit from Gresham Blake. We also teamed up with Mrs Bow Tie to complete his look. He wore their classic silver skinny tie mixed with a dusky rose Turner pocket square to add a pop of colour and a subtle nod to the colour palette.
