Liberty Warehouse Wedding
Laura and Guerin live in Brooklyn – so naturally, they wanted to have their wedding there to show their guests what they loved so much about this borough. My old stomping grounds have an amazing view of the city and lots of old warehouses, making the Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook the perfect venue for their wedding! Brookelyn Photography
From the bride, Laura: We wanted our wedding to be classic, all white, Brooklyn, Guerin & Laura, spontaneous, interactive, and fun! Most people have a particular vision when they hear the word “Brooklyn”: grungy, dirty, industrial – not wedding worthy. We wanted to show our family and friends why it’s our favorite borough. We wanted to surprise them when they walked through the venue doors (and I think we succeeded!). We also wanted our wedding to be active, fun, and full of surprises.
We had a “classically chic Brooklyn park” type of theme, if that makes any sense. We had a bicycle covered in flowers and a moss runner down the tables. Our color scheme was white with greens. June 30th is a very verdant time of year, so our decor company (Hatch Creative Studio) combined white flowers, which I wanted to include, with the greens that are normally out.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Represent yourselves. Bring in the little things that mean a lot to each of you as individuals and as a couple. Have the wedding that YOU (as a couple) want to have. We had my brother-in-law as our officiant, which made some family members uneasy…until the day came and it was touching, personal, and, some say, the most emotional ceremony they’ve ever witnessed. This is your day and will one day be your memories, so make sure you’re happy with your choices. Also, if possible, think outside the box. It’s the unique things that your guests will remember and that you will forever cherish.

This wedding ceremony setting is unreal! It definitely makes me want to travel there and shows why the couple loves their home turf. The white roses perfectly tie together the classic, simple and beautiful wedding.
