A Jewel Toned Winter Wedding at Nashville’s Cedarwood

Cedarwood Wedding Fall 007

When the bride is a floral designer from Cedarwood Weddings, you know the flowers are going to be INCREDIBLE! With a jewel-toned color palette, this winter wedding in Nashville uses dried foliage, dahlias, orchids and so much more to create a whimsical setting with a moody minimalistic vibe. This winter wedding is #goals and the photos by Amilia Photography of Aubrie & Daniel’s wedding are b-e-a-utiful.

From the photographer, Amilia Photography: Aubrie’s moody, wild bouquet, the jewel tones throughout the celebration, Daniel’s green suit, and the organic branch hanging behind the sweetheart table are all impeccably styled and so perfect for a winter wedding. But, as always, my favorite parts about this day are the moments. Moments like when Aubrie’s father told me before the ceremony he had tissues in his coat pocket–just in case! Witnessing Daniel’s father perform a meaningful wedding ceremony for his son and new daughter-in-law. The cloudy, rainy day making all the colors pop beautifully. Aubrie changing into a custom-made party jacket for the reception. And finally, Aubrie and Daniel running back and forth through the sparklers three times at the end of the night for one of the most enthusiastic, fun exits I’ve ever seen.

From the bride: We both love modern, minimal design elements – especially those that pull from nature and the seasons. We got married in the late fall, so we were immediately drawn to fall foliage, and deep, rusty oranges, ochre, burgundy, olive and emerald green, and varying shades of nude. We wanted the colors we chose to portray our personalities and represent us.

Being a floral designer, flowers were the second most important aspect of the wedding (the first being that we had a ridiculously fun time with our guests). I dreamt of cafe au lait dahlias, bunny tails, bleached japanese fern, strawflower, scabiosa, brownie tulips, nandina, orchids, and other textural elements such as foraged branches, and leaves, and a few flowers that grew on our property that were naturally dried by the sun. I knew I could let go and trust the team at Cedarwood to deliver the colorful, wild florals of my dreams.

To Daniel, the cocktails were important. It is his hobby to craft boozy and adventurous cocktails at home, which I adore since I get to be his taste tester. For our wedding, Daniel created a Spiced Pear Black Manhattan and a Cranberry Rosemary Margarita. Our guests adored the cocktails, which made us immensely happy. It was a cold, overcast, rainy day, so the drinks warmed our guests up quite nicely. Daniel was shocked at how much fun he had during our reception – thank you, booze.

Having fun and making sure fun was had by our guests was my absolute top priority. The perfect cocktails, great food, a fantastic DJ, friends and family we love, and my custom made tinsel jacket provided the most fun party. We are so glad we could celebrate with our guests like we did. Thank you, Cedarwood, for making our dream wedding our reality!!
