Jersey Island Wedding
There’s something so calming about gazing upon a relaxed, down home wedding, and all the better when it’s in an international destination! Robin and Sophia’s Jersey wedding shot by we heart pictures is the ultimate in carefree elegance, with a bundle of purple florals for a bouquet and the most perfectly whimsical reception decor we’ve seen this year, including place “cards” made out of scrabble tiles!
From the bride, Sophia: What made the wedding special to us was the DIY element. We did as much as we could ourselves, and what we couldn’t do ourselves we tried to keep local. The table centerpieces were plants bought in a mad rush from the local garden centre the day before the wedding, and even our local Waitrose chipped in with a wedding present (a couple of blocks of Jarlsberg for the ham and cheese sandwiches). The day itself was quite flexible/relaxed – we had a timetable, but we made up some time and let other things slip. We didn’t get around to doing the first dance until around 9 or 10pm.
Jersey Heritage were great and organised all of the decoration for the tiny little granite fort La Tour Carrée – Lots of candles and local wild flowers. We tried to do as much of the reception decoration as we could, and spend 18 months collecting vintage crockery. In the end it was a mad rush – bunting from eBay, bedsheets from BHS as tablecloths, forks from Le Lievres (a local cookshop) and knives from the kitchen drawer. Nancy from The Hungry Lawyer’s Patisserie was fantastic and created absolutely dreamy cakes and pastries (rather disappointingly, no leftover whatsoever!) In the evening we had a hog roast from Le Marinel Farm who also provided various services throughout the day (including a life-saving fridge delivery on the morning of the wedding, and some wickedly morish post-ceremony Pimms).

love how intimate this was. loving that first frame too.
Such a beautiful wedding! I love your ideas.
This wedding is beautiful, I would love to recreate something as pretty as this for my wedding day!
I really like the overall wedding setting:)
The match is almost perfect. The beach background gives me a peaceful feeling yet not too luxury as well! A bit of country feeling but still showcast allthe necessary wedding atmosphere!
I don’t know when I’ve seen a tent look prettier! How perfectly charming and lovely.
Beautiful wedding and an wonderful setting. Love it! Congratulations.
Love the scrabble place cards! So fun and different!
