Industrial Candlelit Wedding Inspiration
Today’s group of talented vendors (including Dawn Derbyshire Photography, Devoted To You, and Sapphire and Lace Design) are bringing us this supremely lush wedding inspo all wrapped up in an industrial setting. With striking ceremony and reception spaces peppered with hanging lightbulbs and twinkling lights, this color palette of black, green, and white has never looked so fun!
From the photographer, Dawn Derbyshire Photography: Having made my home in Pittsburgh for nearly a decade, I’ve always loved the city’s industrial elements but wasn’t seeing it reflected in the weddings. We’ve had an influx of fun, funky, unique couples and the venues that embrace the city’s industrial history are slowly starting to appear. I felt like one of the things holding vendors in the area back from hopping on and embracing the move to industrial venues over barns and gardens was being able to see how their pieces can fit both the popular trends right now (we’re all about the barns, rustic, and vintage out here!) and what’s going to be coming in the future.
I teamed up with some amazing vendors, including a vintage rental company, with the idea of using her vintage/rustic pieces in an industrial, modern way. Mixing her rustic farm table with mixed metal pieces, re-purposing green vintage glassware into the floral pieces, and using a gorgeous vintage sofa for the lounge in the warehouse, we tried to blend old and new, industrial and vintage, sleek and rustic. One of the big elements for this shoot were the floral elements. Pittsburgh is teeming with floral geniuses but somehow blush and simple are still going strong with our many “rustic chic” weddings. I wanted to have over the top flowers that helped add some texture and color to the very monochromatic pieces we had picked out. Our florists, Sapphire and Lace Design, found ways to perfectly incorporate the industrial and vintage elements seamlessly into their design, mixing floral pieces with industrial lighting and old vintage glassware with lots of greenery and small pops of rich color, while creating a huge (but surprisingly lightweight!) bouquet that brought back little bit of soft, feminine flair for the bride.
