High Desert Dream Wedding Anniversary Session
Ashley + Justin’s High Desert dream wedding anniversary session deserves all the heart eyes! Styled by no other than the bride itself, boy, was she able to turn the Historic Cedarwood into a free-spirited desert dream feast day. A forest-y desert vibe, you see? We’re here for it!
Every photo by Teale Photography warms our hearts as if they were captured in a real desert.
When it’s time for Cedarwood Wedding‘s very own Creative Director to style and model in a shoot for her own wedding anniversary, you know it’s going to be something special! Ashley & Justin share a passion for travels and adventure and hold a special place in their hearts for the ethereal High Desert with Joshua Tree being one of their very favorite spots. Cue the magicians at Cedarwood Weddings to bring it to life and you get a desert daydream right in middle Tennessee masterfully captured by Teale Photography.
To evoke the vibe of desert dinner parties as the heat starts to cool at sunset, Cedarwood Weddings combined sandy gauze runners with textured cement floral bowls filled with artistic stems and pops of color from cut star fruit and bowls of figs. The setting flanked by a vintage airstream crowned with floral antlers injected the free-spirited flare of desert gypsies.
A trio of golden oak wood frames stands tall in our terracotta gravel as the perfect backdrop for vows shared once more dressed with sunset-hued florals. Finished off with a spackle textured cake surrounded by sand and figs for the ultimate high desert dream come true.
From the Bride, Ashley: We met while attending college in 2007. A Georgia boy attending an art school for audio production and a Connecticut sorority girl attending a large state school, both working in a mall in Tampa, Florida. I’ve always been a good shopper, and he’s been my best find yet! I had a huge crush on the brooding guy who worked at the music store next to the photography studio I worked at. With long hair at the time, I thought he looked like Johnny Depp, and my co-workers would tease me about “my boyfriend” being at work that day or not (although we had never ever spoken). Until one day, when my co-worker Jeremy approached Justin about this girl he should meet next door. Unknown to me, Jeremy made an excuse for us to walk by Justin’s post in the front of the store and started wildly pointing at me. I bolted to the other side of the mall, completely mortified! After what felt like an eternity, the only way back to work was to walk by Justin’s store where he was waiting to ask me to coffee. Nearly 12 years later and 4 years married, here we are in Nashville, TN.
Add: I should have mentioned we were married at Cedarwood in 2014 🙂 after which I started working here!
