Handmade Bright and Eclectic Texas Wedding
If you haven’t heard of Texas’ The Plant at Kyle, now is definitely the time to familiarize yourself with this incredible venue. Its industrial design is the ideal backdrop for tons of whimsical decor, which is just what it got when Mindi and Jacob exchanged their vows here along with the help of Two Pair Photography and Pollen Floral Art.
From the bride, Mindi: The main things that made our wedding so special was the fact the the whole thing was conceptualized and created while I worked full time, was in my last semester of graduate school, and was able to keep the whole thing under $20k. Jacob and I met in 3rd grade when he popped my training bra… little did we know, that exactly 20 years later he would be popping the most important question of his life! Jacob is a jeweler by profession and made both my rings therefore, I knew I wanted an intimate handmade wedding as well.
Our wedding ceremony and reception was completely DIY… Between myself, mother in law, and her 2 best friends, the following was made completely from scratch: the paper flowers, the rosettes, pinwheels, signs, the photo wall, all of the paper lanterns, tissue balls, the garlands, the confetti balloons, the banners, and the kites. Due to student loans, we decided that we wanted to keep our wedding very small and intimate. We were able to stay within our $20k budget by keeping it DIY and asking our friends and family to help the day of.
