Romantic Lake Gregory Wedding

If you think a wedding beside both the water and mountains of California couldn’t be anything short of perfect, well then, you’re absolutely right. Bride Jaime wanted her wedding to be full of personal touches, so she and her fiancé set to work creating their dream day in the mountains with rustic accents. Of course, it didn’t hurt to have the talents of Daniel Cruz and Brier Rose Design available to make the day extraordinary.

From the bride, Jaime: One thing we really love to see at other weddings is personal touch. I wanted our wedding to reflect us and our personalities and interests. We served apple pie because it was Michael’s favorite dessert, our cake topper was Minnie and Mickey Mouse because our favorite place to go is Disneyland. Our wedding was in the mountains because we got to know each other through hiking in the mountains. So when my mom found the San Moritz Lodge, in Crestline CA, we knew right away that this was the perfect place for our wedding.

Since our wedding was in the mountains we felt that a rustic theme was best. Between my mom, my sister Jessica, our florist and good friend Collette Budd of Brier Rose Design and myself, there were many DIY projects. Everything thing was hand made, painted or put together by one of us. Even my husband was put to work cutting wood for the table numbers and painting our mason jars gold. This cut back on a lot of cost and added the personal touch we were looking for.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? For couples planning their weddings now I would advise them to plan ahead, work hard, and when your day finally arrives let go and remember what this was all about. If your center pieces don’t look exactly the way you planned, don’t let that ruin the fact that you are marrying your best friend.
