Rock Quarry Wedding Inspiration
Do we ever have a big chunk of pretty for you all! Stylist extraordinaire Erika of Vintage My Wedding put together this styled shoot inspired by all things quartz with touches of gold and blush pink. With photography by Love Is A Big Deal, how could they possibly go wrong? Keep an eye out for the amazing wedding cake!
From the stylist, Erika: We knew we wanted to create something beautiful and awesome using natural elements. We wanted the shoot to be romantic and soft with an edgy feel. Most of our inspiration came from agate, precious stones, and metal. The hard edges and colors of those rocks mixed in with brass and gold elements were the perfect combination.
When scouting for a venue to bring all of our ideas to life we found the most amazing hidden rock quarry. The color of the water and the cut rock inside the cave was unbelievable! We gold leafed individual rocks, painted wood slabs to mimic agate, cut and wrapped handmade soaps that resembled rock slabs, and crafted a table number using gold painted twigs on a painted concrete chunk. In the end, the shoot turned out even more amazing than we could’ve dreamed.

One word…simply magical! Ok two 🙂
I love this shoot! I see where you linked the dress to – but who is the designer so that I can search for it on the b Hughes site? Thanks!
The metallic accents on that stunning green cake and the stylish use of succulents in the centrepieces are both strong looks for vintage weddings in 2013, love it! Bec xx
Christina,
The dress is a Vera Wang. You won’t find it on B Hughes site, you’ll need to make an appt to go see Rachel if you’re in the Nashville area ;). She’s amazing!

I would love to do my cake similar to this cake. Does anyone know how to do the gold flake detail? I love everything about this!
