Organic and Intimate Wedding in Arizona
Modern and organic are the buzzwords for today’s wedding from Mary Claire Photography, Sage & Stem Event Design, and Posies Floral. Bride Ashlynn took on a strategy of finding 5 wedding day elements she wouldn’t budge on, and went from there. As you can see, the result is a streamlined event that looks as carefree as it does inspiring!
From the bride, Ashlynn: Like many other brides, I quickly became overwhelmed by all the possibilities Pinterest had to offer (Stay off that site — that’ll be the end of everything). I felt like there was a little bit of everything that I wanted and it was easily the worst feeling. Ever. Finally, I decided I needed to narrow it down to 5 things I wouldn’t budge on. It was from those 5 things that we were able to create the perfect wedding (in my humble opinion). The 5 things were inspired by the view of my favorite spot in the world — a spot that my clever husband ended up using to propose to me. The view overlooks a valley full of trees, smells of various woods and saps, and arguably has the the best view for any sunrise and sunset. Those 5 things narrowed down to bold and natural lighting, clean & crisp linens, wood foundations, delicate glass, and green shrubbery anywhere we can throw it. Luckily, the venue was in an orchard so I was able to tie in a lot of these elements naturally but Sage & Stem Event Design and Posies Floral truly made it a botanical wonderland. The fact that we were able to create a wedding so unlike the natural Arizona Landscape was my biggest dream come true and to this day, picturing that night makes me cry from perfection.
Favorite moments: When the night fell and all the aged copper candlesticks lit up the orchard. Wax was dripping in a way that felt orchestrated. Cheesy, but so true. We loved the toasts! It was so beautiful to have all our family and friends there to celebrate our special day. Dancing. That was one element of the program I wanted sufficient time for. I was going to dance my way out of that place if it was the last thing I did. Is it weird that one my favorite moments was the ferns? Because when I picture all my favorite moments, I see ferns. Ah gosh they were so supple and beautiful. THE CAKE! First off, it might be wise to note, I hate cake. I opted for a small and simple cake for that fact that I didn’t plan on eating any of it! Lo & behold, this cake tasted like the clouds and I couldn’t get enough of it. Who knew wedding cake could taste AND look good? Dancing with my best friend. I knew I wanted him in my life forever when we met as 12 year olds and it such a surreal feeling to know I really did have him forever.
I love all the greenery in this wedding. It’s so lush, and the photography really compliments it. Thanks for sharing!
Love the sparklers image, Table settings look fab!
