Modern Bohemian Wedding Inspiration at Faberfarm
This beautiful shoot from Catie Coyle, Gather Events, and Flourish Floral Design was planned to showcase the beauty of Washington venue Faberfarm, and luckily for us, the result is absolutely beautiful and inspiring. A romantic macrame backdrop, incredible bridal flowers, and a light and airy reception have us all totally googly-eyed.
From the event planners, Gather Events: Skagit Valley has a kind of magic quality to it, and it happens to be the childhood home to the GATHER girl owners. We helped Faberfarm with their launch by designing a styled shoot that turned into a grand opening party. We took our inspiration from the farm itself and the surrounding area in the fading warmth of summer. The farm is in the heart of the valley surrounded by fields and beyond that rivers and hills that carry with it a history rich in art, farming, mining, and forestry. We wanted to highlight the farm and valley’s heritage in a fresh contemporary manner.
Faberfarm’s restored barn was a beautiful blank slate to work with: warm wood walls inside, white exterior, a covered patio and mature gardens surrounded by leek and dahlia fields. We wanted the feel to be timeless and natural. We opted for wood tables, natural linens, bountiful floral and fruits, mixed metals, and soft warm tones of blush, soft white, and wood. As a nod to the local history, our Seattle owner Alissa had her geologist sister harvest quartz chunks for the base of the table numbers and we sourced sea salt votives to echo the look of quartz. We decided to highlight two of the potential ceremony areas, so we brought in a local macrame artist to help us create a backdrop on a massive laurel hedge and also built a simple wood arbor as a focal point for the field facing set up. In the early part of the last century, the area was a big distributor of seeds, so we used the floral graphics found on old seed packets as loose inspiration for the more monochromatic and modern version in the stationery we produced. All of this was made possible by the stellar local vendor team that we worked with, some of our favorite clients who modeled for us, and Catie Coyle who captured the ethereal light of the valley.
