Lighthouse Point Park Wedding
It never would have occurred to me before, but a beach wedding mixed with a dusty lavender color palette is pretty darn perfect. With some accents of mint green and incredible floral design from Blossoming Blessings, this New Haven wedding was a big winner — see the images from Daphne and Dean to judge for yourself!
From the bride, Rochelle: Our wedding day turned out to be more beautiful than how I envisioned it to be. I wanted my friends and family to experience our first day as husband and wife with so much joy, and most importantly, see how much love and FUN we truly have with one another through all of our little wedding details. We wanted everyone to fun, plain and simple.
90% of our wedding decor was created by both my husband and myself. It was the epitome of DIY. We did the save the dates, invitations, signs, favors, escort cards, sign in decor and the list goes on. One DIY I will always cherish is the carousel wedding logo he created for our invites and placed on our cotton candy bags. We truly are teammates and we honestly grew closer as we worked on all of these projects together. We made a lot of fun out of it and actually have a few of our wedding decor around our apartment! So, as you can see, our little wedding theme/hashtag was all about “Team Schultz.” We even choreographed/mixed all the songs to our first dance together, and practiced it once. That’s not even a joke.. it’s disgusting how are in-sync we are with one another.
For our centerpieces, I had a centerpiece making party where my bridesmaids, friends and family gathered to wrap twine and yarn around wine bottles all night long. Again, it’s important to make these DIY projects fun. Otherwise, it will be a big snowball of stress and no one wants to be around a stressed out bride. No one. My mother made my beautiful veil and sash. My grandfather made our cupcake display but cutting up a tree that fell in my backyard. All of these projects are so cherished and seeing everything put together, truly made our wedding so.. us. It was grand.
