Jackson Meadow Wedding

Today’s bride and groom have known each other since they were each 12 years old – talk about childhood sweethearts! It was only fitting that their wedding should be full of sweetness and homey details, like exchanging vows while standing on a rug gifted to them by the bride’s sister. Paper Antler and Alisun Abbott pulled all the stops on this Minnesota affair!

From the bride, Ashlee: We have known each other since we were 12 years old, so planning came pretty easily! We pictured ourselves getting married outside in a meadow type setting surrounded by our closest friends and family. Our hope was something unique with lots of personal touches that felt like a celebration of us. We didn’t have a theme or colors in mind. The gorgeous meadow backdrop provided most of the decorating. My sister gifted us the amazing rug we were married on (which is now in our home), our friend made all of the personalized benches for our ceremony.

As soon as I found my dress, the rest fell into place, each bridesmaid would wear a lace dress of her choice, my husband wanted a cool “old timey suit” We are incredibly lucky to have such talented and generous friends, almost everything from chalkboards, pies, flowers and decor was done by our wonderful family and friends. One of the biggest projects was making a path to the ceremony site in the meadow, my husband spent many weeks mowing, trimming and perfecting the beautiful winding path. My mom and I went to farmers market a few weeks before the wedding and chose our favorites. I wanted the flowers to look very natural, loose and wild. They turned out so beautiful! My sister created a bouquet for me using all creams and whites, I loved it. We ended up using flowers from the meadow and gardens to make boutonnieres and crowns.
