Fun Nautical Inspired Vow Renewal
This vow renewal is chock-full of sweetness, and I don’t just means all of the heaps and heaps of delicious desserts! Megan and Brent of Studio Castillero captured Melissa (of Melissa Biador Photography) and Nio’s day and love beautifully, along with the fantastic DIY creations the couple tackled, the to-die-for dessert bar, and those florals! Can we talk about the designs Penny Blooms did? I love Melissa’s eclectic bouquet and all of those eye-catching colors and blooms, from the dainty lilacs to the single magenta rose. Keeping it simple, the couple opted for centerpieces that offered table space while also adding uniqueness and their own spin to the wedding through glittered table numbers, long-necked vases with small bundles of flowers, and the highlight of their centerpieces: the names of US Naval ships tucked in.
From the bride, Melissa: My husband and I renewed our vows since we had an intimate ceremony about 8 years ago. Our renewal embraced our personalities as a married couple… from the nautical decor (representing my husband’s career in the Navy) and the feminine, fun details. Our colors were coral, mint, cream and blush pink with a touch of glitter and gold. We had many personal touches to our renewal. My husband wore his dress blues during the first part of the day our groomsmen wore casual attire and a handmade bow tie made by my cousin. The bridesmaids had different dresses that fit their personal style and each wore a statement necklace as a gift from me.
We had our ceremony and reception at the I-Bar in Coronado, where my husband was stationed during the time of our renewal. Our daughters were involved in our ceremony. Our eldest daughter, was part of the bridal party and our younger daughters held a sign “Daddy, Here Comes Mommy.” Each of the centerpieces had names of different Naval ships.
