Chagrin Falls Wedding
Today’s couple had a specific vision in mind — vintage style with a touch of Southern charm. Thanks to a generous heaping of peach and apricot tones, deep plum, and of course some gold here and there, Katie and Joe achieved their classic vision with the help of Hunter Photographic, A Charming Fête, and Lowe’s Greenhouse. One touch we love – the couple displayed their engagement story on a kraft paper scroll at the reception!
From the bride, Katie: We were looking for a vintage style with a touch of southern charm. We wanted an intimate feel with our guests. Our color scheme was plum with peach/apricot. I feel that most everything was vintage and elegant.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Remember the wedding is about the 2 of you. No matter how mad friends and family make you with their demands, ideas and actions, just remember it all comes down to you two and the commitment you are making to one another and the beautiful life you are starting together.

From the photographer, Hunter of Hunter Photographic: We worked with our beautiful couple Katie and Joe for over a year to help bring their vision to life of a natural, yet elegant, highly personalized wedding. Contrasting shades of peach and apricot were incorporated with rich lilac and plums, all fully accented with lush greenery. The end result was a beautiful timeless affair, full of carefully designed details that reflect both their love story and personal style. And of course, a few gilded details for a hint of elegance. The Club at Hillbrook, a historic tudor mansion with stunning natural surroundings and stone winding paths, provided the perfect setting as well as the indoor/outdoor space that Katie and Joe wanted. We worked with the florist to construct a gorgeous ceremony arch draped with 30 ft. long greenery garlands, bright floral groups, and flowing fabric to serve as the perfect backdrop for the outdoor ceremony. The floral design was such a huge part of this wedding. From Katie’s massive peach and cream bouquet with tousled vines to her maids loose and slightly asymmetric plum bundles, no detail was overlooked. Inside the reception space, recycled wood farm tables were lined with lush greenery garlands and pops of florals, candles and vintage compotes filled with freshly picked plums and apricots. Classic floral china chargers sat beside simple flatware tied perfectly with a snip of apricot velvet ribbon for a bit of rich texture. Custom menus were designed for the couple featuring a small silhouette of their two beloved black Chihuahuas, facing nose-to-nose. Custom toss pillows were also made for the vintage lounge area to reflect their fourlegged friends. The story of their engagement at Kilkenny Castle in Ireland was scribed onto a sheet of oversized kraft paper and displayed at cocktail hour beside Irish love knot handkerchiefs. We styled the dessert table with vintage green depression era glass plates and piled on the French macarons, cream puffs and Funfetti cake pops (a special request from the groom). The star of the dessert table was a beautifully designed ruffle wedding cake from Hummingbird Bake Shop. The couple also offered signature cocktails to their guests, Moscow mules served in copper mugs (his) and peach bellinis (hers). A cigar bar was setup on one of the outdoor terraces for guests to indulge. Aside from the design aspect, the family details and love witnessed at this wedding were positively unmatched! Beginning with the bride and her lovely maids getting ready in custom embroidered monogram oversized button-ups, while exchanging gifts made from the bride’s grandmother’s wedding gown. A custom engraved pistol (quite proper indeed) was given as a gift from the bride to the groom. Especially important to Katie was a wood table top made by the bride’s grandfather signed by all of the guests in lieu of a traditional guest book. Beyond the carefully planned design and personal details, the tearful moments shared between family and captured mostly on film by Hunter Photographic became an integral part of this wedding story. This is a wedding where you can truly feel the love.

Beautiful wedding dress! Great Photography!
I really like the Southern vintage appeal of the wedding. Nice and intimate. The cake is amazing! I like how everything was perfectly placed in the photographs.
Where in Chagrin Falls was the wedding/reception? Also did you do the decorations? They are beautiful!
