Bright and Organic Vow Renewal Inspiration

We may show more weddings than vow renewals here on Ruffled, but that doesn’t mean we love them any less. If anything, we might just love them more — if only because this time around, you get to bring the kids along! Jessica Bordner Photography, Desiree Dawn Events, and Port + Palm Co. put together this stylish vow renewal shoot with a real married couple and their children, giving us endless garden wedding inspiration with beautiful blues, yellow, and peach.

From the photographer, Jessica Bordner Photography: I recently collaborated with a few of my favorite Palm Beach based vendors to create a vow renewal inspiration shoot at a recently opened farm venue. Kai Kai is a working farm and supplies fresh produce to many of the local restaurants in the Palm Beaches. They recently constructed a covered open air venue space, with the intention of hosting more private events on their grounds. We wanted to create a shoot that showcased the venue and the types of weddings/private events that we would love to plan and design there in the future.

Our models were a real couple, Nathan and Sarah, and their two kids. Nathan has worked at the farm for a few years, and he and his wife built their tiny house on the farm. Showcasing the beauty of the fields was easy due to this family’s comfort with the land. Little Emma was romping around barefoot, naming greens and veggies, while Ethan wandered in the dirt (he was super proud of his bow tie!). Jessica Bordner Photography was perfection; she captured the Southern-meets-Florida charm of the farm and this family. We ran with a Florida farm meets French elegance vision when selecting the design details. The owner of Kai Kai has a French background and we wanted to pay homage to her as well as the natural beauty of the farm. Bits of lavender were incorporated in the floral design elements, with a lavender silk ribbon trailing from the bouquet. Soft french blues were pulled in through cafe-style napkins, tapered candles, and the couple’s attire. In tying in the farm and Florida’s natural flora, we incorporated potted ferns in the ceremony scene accented with bight pops of poppies, and each boutonnière was accented with fresh-from-the-farm broccoli sprouts and flowers.
