Barbie Inspired Wedding Ideas
If you tried to tell me that a Barbie-inspired wedding shoot could be both fun and sophisticated, I’d have a difficult time believing you – that is, until I saw this styled shoot from Mikki Platt Photography. The secret? Tackling Barbie and Ken as an elegant adult couple, Barbara and Kenneth. We’re still having a difficult time recovering from the beauty of Blossom Sweet‘s floral arrangements, bursting with gorgeous pinks and purples!
From the photographer, Mikki Platt: I am so excited to share this editorial shoot with you! It’s a modern take on every little girl’s favorite couple, “Barbie & Ken,” all grown up as Barbara and Kenneth. We took the essentials of America’s glamorous sweetheart and her dream boy, and created an elegant, classic and blithe celebration of blonde hair, pink heels, and Barbie’s perfect accessory (second only to her man), a Corvette!
I invite you to gush over the stunning florals, gorgeous ruffled gown, chic getaway mini-dress and the scrumptious 34-flavor donut bar. This shoot was inspired by my mother’s own innocent childhood obsession with Barbies. And since I welcomed a new baby girl into my home this year, it’s only fitting that I jump head first into the world of pretty and pink.

How fun is this?! Who would have guessed a Barbie inspired shoot would look so sophisticated!
Wow. How great this all looks. Such a bold statement of pink, executed in such a sophisticated way. Loving the unique treatment for the doughnuts, nice touch!
So pretty Mikki! I’ve been dying to see these!
What a cool take on a ‘Barbie and Ken’ wedding, or should I say Barbara and Kenneth! Bold colours as Barbie deserves, but done so well. And those donuts…is it morning tea time yet??
agreed. looks like Ken and Babie wedding. wonderful and fantastic
