Galactic Wedding with a Navy Bridal Gown
If Vincent Van Gogh’s The Starry Night met with modern day weddings, I have no doubt this styled shoot from Candice Benjamin Photography and Lace + Lilies would be the result. The show-stopper here is the incredible Rebecca Taylor navy gown specked with silver sequins, which provides the perfect backdrop for a lovely anemone, air plant, and eucalyptus bouquet.
From the photographer and stylist, Candice of Candice Benjamin Photography: The story of how the shoot came together is a simple one. I’m new to Northern Colorado and wanted to show a little un-traditional flair to my new state. I’ve always loved the idea of wearing a colored wedding dress, and wanted to show couples that just because it’s snowing doesn’t mean that you can’t hold a beautiful wedding.
Also, I’ve always been inspired by the galaxy, and feel like you can always find some sort of romance surrounding it. I dip-dyed napkins to remind me of the night sky, hung paper stars over the table, and we dressed the bride in a blue dress with what looks like shooting stars falling down the fabric. My favorite part of the shoot was done by Lace & Lilies. They took the idea of stars and translated that into using star-shaped air-plants in the bouquet.
