Fort Worth Wedding with Drippy Florals & A Punch of Citrus
Excuse us while we do a double take of this gorgeous wedding in Texas with drippy florals and pops of citrus. Cloud Creative Events has our jaws on the floor with the perfect blend of both the bride and groom’s favorite things like colorful poppies and accents of citrus. Don’t even get us started on the drippy florals by Moss Floral Design that hang over the head table at the reception. All the bright summer details captured by Allen Tsai Photography just warm our hearts.
From the planner, Cloud Creative Events: While Sara hails from California, Randy was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. While attending TCU, Sara had a internship where Randy worked. They soon found out that Randy lived near campus as well, and that summer it just made sense for them to carpool to work together. Their bond quickly grew and they found themselves quickly dating.
Because Fort Worth was where they met and fell in love, they wanted to honor that by getting married in the city they loved. They chose Heart of the Ranch at Clearfork for the personality of the grounds and the ability to personalize the wedding from start to finish.
To begin the personalized wedding, Sara and Randy knew that they had to honor their dogs, Remi and Riley. Since neither venue allowed dogs, they had to honor their four-legged children. Illustrated weddings took photos of their pups and turned them into watercolor illustrations, even hinting at their colors and design, giving Remi a light blue gingham bow tie and Riley had a pink floral collar. Choosing a loopy script helped tie the Southern theme in. Using a gingham liner was a classic, southern touch.
When choosing the florals and the pallets, it was important to to put hints to both Sara and Randy’s tastes and personality in there. When designing the crest, we used hints of citrus as an homage to Randy’s love of anything citrus, and we used lots of poppies and bluebonnets as hints at both California and Texas.
All flowers were accented with ferns, poppies and peonies for colorful blooms to pop against the green backdrop of Heart of the Ranch. Blue tablecloths accented with white napkins and kumquats to tie in Randy’s love of citrus and the blue of the bluebonnets, which can’t be used in florals. On the day, Randy wore his grandfather’s cufflinks as their something old.
Those drippy florals over the head table just make a WOW statement in this Texas wedding, right? Yea, we’re obsessed too. If you’re looking for some statement ideas then check out our 2020 wedding trends!
