Gingham Wedding Ideas x A Morris & Co Print For This Pattern Loving Couple

Editorial Series At Wish Well House

We’re suckers for a bold print… and these gingham wedding ideas make “bold print” an understatement. Courted throughout the wedding story with the unlikely pairing of a classic Morris & Co pattern, gingham shoes, checked dinner napkins and green gingham tie beam effortlessly from each frame… just as Planner, Kim, from The Venue Studio always knew they would!

Jenna McElroy sweeps us through a wonderful world of color in this playfully modern wedding story with roots in classic Southern design. We love the way these unapologetic ideas juxtapose against a 1930’s inspired bridal look that mirrors the Morris & Co print in a subtle, but extraordinary way.

Truth & Blooms parades a sweet array of blooms into each space, molding every centerpiece, aisle arrangement and bar accent into a humbly graceful and unmistakably memorable icon that we can’t help but take 50 mental snapshots of so they can live in our dreams. If you’re a pattern-loving bride who loves a little bit of everything, from eras gone by to more recent print empires, spend a little time digging through the gold nuggets in this feature. It’s bursting with them!

From the Photographer, Jenna McElroy: The Editorial Series workshop was inspired by the venue settings. I wanted this shoot to embody the wedding venue’s brand through the colors, patterns and fonts that were used.

The entire shoot was inspired by the wallpaper designer Morris & Co. That is seen in the staircase leading up to the bridal room. I love how this designer beautifully combines modern and traditional design to create something timeless.

I selected the Morris & Co. Pimpernel pattern to set the tone for the color palette of the shoot. This pattern was used throughout the shoot for fluidity. However, I incorporated the gingham pattern for a pop of color & pattern, that is seen in the venue Bridal Suite Pillows.

The ceremony chairs displayed the shoots color palette through the chair color & the arch brought a soft and romantic feel to soften the entire shoot.

This shoot was designed with a bride in mind who isn’t afraid of pattern and color and is willing to incorporate untraditional elements into her special day, like an Oyster bar for guests to enjoy!

And how ’bout that motorcycle getaway?! The bridal headband, the hand-painted macarons, the open weave cane-backed paper goods, the bold typography, the modern black chairs, the colorful groom suit, the styled lemon + oyster station… honestly, these gingham wedding ideas could not have been accompanied by dreamier wedding day moments. If it’s finally hitting you that everything is bigger in Texas, (including pattern!), you won’t want to miss another one of our past favorites in Texas wine country here next!
