Foggy Mountaintop Elopement Inspiration with Macrame
The weather is starting to cool down just a bit these days, and we couldn’t be happier about it. That means autumn is just on the horizon, and we’ve got inspiration like this one from Victoria Selman, NoLo Weddings + Events, and Maryland Bay Blossoms that capture the turning of the seasons so well to get us ready for the transition. For those thinking of an intimate wedding or secret elopement in the mountains, let this beauty be your jumping off point:
From the photographer, Victoria Selman: This mountaintop elopement inspiration is full of total earthiness – organic linens, deer antlers, rocky cliffs, and a fiercely gorgeous couple celebrating their 1 year anniversary! Inspired by the changing of the seasons, this shoot bids farewell to the last warm breezes of summer air and welcomes the refreshing coolness of fall. This elopement is styled for the adventurous bride seeking an earthy, quaint ceremony amidst nature with an intimate dinner escape in the woods.
And just like a real wedding day, unpredictable weather set in and Mother Nature swung us for a loop with down-pouring rain & thunderstorms in the middle of the shoot. We packed everything up as fast as we could, hunkered down under the pavilion, then set back out to catch the last moments of daylight. What could have been a disaster turned this shoot into ultimate success – the hot rain created the most incredible thick fog that hung low in the valley, creating a stunning romantic backdrop for photos on the edge of the cliff. And as the night air cooled, the fog rose even higher.
The loosely hung macrame ceremony backdrop gives a touch of boho to this intimate soirée. In front of this art piece is where Nathan & Andrea recited their wedding vows & scripture to one another with real love and real laughter on their 1 year anniversary. And I just can’t sing enough praises about the incredible NoLo Weddings + Events team of Nora & Lorinda – they brought this entire vision to life & it was a real treat to work with these gals!
