This Fine Art Portland Wedding Shows You Why You Need a Rainy Day Plan
Oh my heart! This timeless fine art wedding by Bridal Bliss in Portland, Oregon captured by Sweetlife Photography is one we can’t get enough of. Pampering their guests + florals were two top priorities for Karine and Jack, which just happens to be the perfect recipe for a gorgeous wedding day if you ask us!
Karine + Jack are true blue. They are a beautiful couple, and just as wonderful on the inside. I absolutely loved working with them and Karine’s hilarious mom, Jan. Jan is basically who I want to be when I grow up–a great mom, life of the party, generous and super thoughtful. Karine + Jack were focused on a top-notch guest experience, while Jan’s priority was floral….basically my perfect match!

The dreamy day began at Waverley Country Club with hair/makeup by Olivia Hawthorne Beauty. The girls were pampered upstairs at the club while the guys toasted and shared laughs nearby at Egan Cottage. With the threat of rain all week, we pulled the trigger and brought in beautiful white tents, chandeliers and extra lighting the day prior.
Guests were greeted to the club with valet parking and sparkling water before finding their seats. Swoon floral decked out the ceremony chair backs and aisle with lush flowers in tones of whites and greens and the backdrop was a tree trunk filled with floral. Along with the water, the view was breathtaking! Karine was escorted down the aisle by her sweet father, who had very recently been sick and was on the road to recovery. The moment, serenaded by Ariel Consort, was so wonderful as the two beamed down the aisle. The touching ceremony was officiated by friends who absolutely nailed it.
Post-ceremony, guests headed downstairs for cocktail hour where our Sperry tent was filled with an incredible 27-foot bar and even bigger floral backdrop. We incorporated huge potted plants, mango and coral tones for this portion of the event and soft seating, bistro tables and signature drinks. As guests mingled and peeked at the striking escort display, the vendor team was executing a flawless flip to switch the ceremony area into a stunning reception. Lush linens, full florals, gold-accented china, glassware and chargers, an awe-inspiring head table structure, and the sweet smell of gardenias at each setting made for a serious wow-factor.
Guests headed back upstairs, where they were escorted to their tables in the transformed space and enjoyed a seated dinner. Afterward, Karine + Jack were toasted by their nearest and dearest, including her father, Eric. Despite the downpour (thank goodness for those tents!!), you could have heard a pin drop as he was speaking…it was clear that he is incredibly loved and respected and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. He was funny, he was heartfelt and he was gracious.
For the last portion of the evening, we headed inside for cake cutting and a dance floor that Precious Byrd kept full all night! Guests enjoyed a stocked dessert buffet (Jack’s requirement!), a photo booth, late-night treats, and of course an open bar. It was such a fun night celebrating two people who are each wonderful on their own, but even better together.
