Exotic Garden Party Wedding in Bali

If you wanted me to list some of my top dream wedding scenarios, a long banquet style table next to an infinity pool in Bali has definitely secured a spot at the top of the roster. The fact that Jocelyn and Paul had endless amounts of bougainvillea surrounding them on the big day only adds to reasons to love this wedding from Jonas Peterson. Make sure you have some time to completely take in this visual feast of a wedding!

From the bride, Jocelyn: We’ve known each other since we were teenagers. We both grew up between Asia and the US, and now live in London. Travel is in our blood. We both work for creative agencies by day, and by night, Paul’s a musician, I’m obsessed with design. We love film. We wanted to create a weekend as eclectic as our life together, and landed with a vision for an exotic garden party crossed with the glamour of a Baz Luhrmann film, on the most magical set that is Ubud, Bali.

Flower recipe: Fuchsia and peach bougainvillea… by the hundreds! We couldn’t get enough. Our florist earmarked the plants over 6 months in advance to ensure there would be enough for the big day.

We would describe our day as eclectic, a colour explosion, magical. Bright fuchsia, blush pink, and metallic (gold). As for DIY, does it count that we had to get all our friends and family to help bring everything with us from Hong Kong to Bali? We ordered the rugs from a Turkish shop on Etsy, the growlers from a wholesaler in Texas, the parasols from TaoBao in China, just to name a few 🙂

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Pick a few things to do really, really well. Don’t worry about the rest.
