Endless Color in This Multi-Day Indian Wedding
If ever there were an argument to fill your entire wedding day with color, it comes in the form of this incredible wedding photographed by Justine Milton Photography. Sirjana and Benjamin wed each other in a celebration lasting days, which just so happened to coincide with the Holi Festival. Naturally, powder-covered portraits were in order!
From the photographer, Justine Milton Photography: Arriving early in the AM into India, the groom picked us up from the bus station and took us around to see a bit of the town and to run a few errands, like picking up some outfits for the week’s events and meeting with people to sort out a bunch of other things! The first evening the Sangeet was being held in a beautiful outdoor venue not too far from where the bride’s parents live. The whole week can be summed up as beautiful, colourful chaos. Things were running a bit late, so instead of a session before the event we decided to do it the following day, in a really cool abandoned partially built shopping mall. Climbing through the weeds, and up the stairs on the this open platform with perfect golden light was a really cool addition to the week! The morning after the Sangeet, was the Holi Festival. It was so much fun, everyone had a blast! All the adults and children were covered in water, and every color powder under the sun, there were water balloons and water guns and poster everywhere!
The day following that, everyone loaded onto a couple of buses and we headed up the mountains to Dalhousie. It was an incredibly scenic drive! It was a full day journey to get there, the following day was the mendhi party. Everyone sat outside on the balcony of the hotel overlooking the Himalayas and enjoying the incredible view! On the wedding day, the weather was a slight concern, but we lucked out and the clouds blew right by! The ceremony was gorgeous, with a spectacular view! For photos we went to this gorgeous wooded area, and then stopped at a partially constructed, abandoned building, that had unobstructed mountain views, it was a perfect spot for sunset photos!
Lovely details and incredible emotions captured. Very well done!
