Elegant Greenery Wedding with Burgundy Hues

I won’t lie, this elegant greenery wedding captured by Scarlet O’Neill made us do a double take. We thought it was an editorial shoot at first because from beginning to end, everything is styled to a T, including a Sofreh from Dream Day Events. The couple really wanted a destination wedding at first to celebrate their love for travel but ultimately chose to be able to have everyone in their family in attendance so the hunt for the perfect + quaint venue sparked the inspiration for their day. There’s so much to pin, so here it is!

From the bride: It was so important to us that our wedding day be a tribute to who we are as a couple. We love to travel, particularly to Europe. So we looked into organizing a European destination wedding. However, it was more important for us to have all of our friends and family attend our ceremony, and so the search began for a venue. Walking up to the Hacienda was like being transported to the streets of Spain. From the cobblestone floors to the Romeo & Juliet balconies, we found ourselves living our European fairytale wedding. We explained to our wonderful wedding planner, Amanda Morris, that we wanted our wedding to feel warm, intimate and romantic. She made sure that there were so many candles on the balconies that we felt like we were dancing under the stars and the way Tellie arranged our florals, in a natural and wild kind of way, made us feel as though we were in a Spanish garden villa.

We wanted to make sure that we incorporated a couple small things that we loved to help make our wedding day feel more personal. Probably the most important detail to have at our wedding was our post-it note. Anyone who knows us well knows that Grey’s Anatomy was the beginning of our love story 7 years ago. And if you’re a die-hard Grey’s fan (like we are and our photographer is!) you’ll understand how special it was when F handed me that little piece of paper, with everything we promised to each other, right before he proposed. That post-it note sits in our living room and reminds us of our vows and promises to each other every day. The second best personal detail was having apple pie pops for wedding favors, because anyone who knows me, knows that the way to my heart is with an apple pie!
