Modern Australian Wedding with Local Greenery

We’ve been gearing up all week to share Elisha + Michael’s modern Australian wedding with you. Simply pouring with details like suspended branches, Edison bulbs, lucite chairs and a black leather bridal jacket, we’re pretty sure these images will have your heart aching for a greenery-filled industrial wedding theme too. You’ll probably be amazed when you find out this is the first wedding C. MOORE Creative ever styled. They’ve knocked our socks off with this debut!

From the stylist, Courtney of C. MOORE Creative: Elisha and Michael’s wedding was actually the very first wedding I styled, and all I can say is that it was an absolute pleasure to help create the most special day for them both. Fortunately, I had previously worked on events and activations with Elisha, so even though it was to my surprise when she pulled me aside one day and asked me to style her wedding, I was so honored and excited to be trusted with her vision.

Naturally, working in the events industry Elisha was one the most organized and easy going brides; on our first meeting she had already ticked off the dress, the venue and had a clear vision of the whole day. She had lists and layouts and confirmed orders; she really was Super-Bride! This went a long way to ensure the whole process ran smoothly and cohesively, and as she was already familiar with my styling taste and abilities, she was very trusting to let my small team and I make it all work from there.

It was an absolutely perfect day, so when they held the ceremony in the garden, it really did feel magical. The styling focal point was a white timber backdrop from Hampton Event Hire, and to give texture and warmth Ellee Jay FLoristry created a beautiful arrangement of native greenery. One of our personal standout features was the custom welcome sign we created for Elisha and Michael. In an open garden setting, the welcome sign helped define the entrance to the ceremony area, and with greenery attached to the frame, it still managed to at times almost blend into the green surroundings. Following the ceremony the garden was transformed into a private cocktail area oozing luxe and tranquility, with festoon lighting from Avideas glistening above and rustic wine barrels and timber high bars styled with tea lights and gold base candle holders.

The rustic yet elegant feel of the venue definitely set the tone for the style of the wedding. When guests entered the reception space, they were greeted with the drama of floor to ceiling draped curtains, and front and center was the large custom seating chart we designed. As the reception space is quite industrial we felt the clean white lines of the frame, draped with greenery for cohesion added just enough sophistication against the slightly rugged environment.

For the finer details of the reception we continued with a white color palette with hints of gold, against the contrast of glass, clear ghost chairs and rustic textures of the dark timber tables and corrugated iron walls. Tea lights lined the banquet tables, along with gold base candle holders from Innovative Hiring, helping to create an intimate setting, while also providing just the right amount of luxe. Of course, nothing says luxury more than a take-your-breath-away floral arrangement such as the large suspended green installations created above the tables, again by Ellee Jay FLoristry, as well as the table arrangements to create some height on the tables.

We feel so grateful that Elisha and Michael gave us the opportunity to work with them, we absolutely loved styling such an incredible space for such a great couple. The wedding, came together just as we had discussed with them; it was simple, warm and elegant; reflected their personal style and showcased it against the rustic and industrial charm of the barn style backdrop that is Osteria. We have no doubt that Elisha and Michael, along with their family and friends, will have incredible memories of this stunning affair for many years to come.
