Eclectic Boho Desert Bridal Inspiration
Beautiful vintage inspired wedding dresses heavy on the romance and bohemia in the desert? Oh yeah, sign us up. This styled shoot from Chelsea Seekell Photography (who not only photographed but also designed the scene from scratch) is making all the right moves, showcasing a bridal look perfect for those who aren’t afraid to go a little unconventional. Let’s take a peek:
From the photographer and stylist, Chelsea Seekell Photography: I’ve dreamt of designing my own styled shoot for awhile now & with being in the business for 8 years, I have been collecting little items here and there ever since I started photographing weddings. I knew I wanted to find a location that transported the viewers from Michigan to somewhere you wouldn’t expect to see here in the mitten.
It took years to find the perfect spot and when I finally did, the shoot started falling into place. The table and chairs, candlesticks, glasses, wall hanging, etc, these were all items I’ve collected over time to curate this shoot. One of my main goals was to attempt to become every vendor that I possibly could, by providing all of these things on my own. Gabby & I spent the morning before the shoot going around town trying to find just the right flowers to create a wild bouquet for Rachel. Ali was ever so kind to let us use one of her beautiful gowns & Veronica of Hamlet Interiors really brought the whole vision together with one of her rugs straight from Morocco! We were going for a bohemian/carefree vibe. By pairing the snakeskin boots with the wedding dress & adding a hat over the veil, I really think we captured how confident, beautiful & bold something… maybe a little bit daring, can be!
Be sure to watch the film from Gabby Hulst Storytelling:
From the videographer, Gabby Hulst Storytelling: Speaking for me, I know that Chelsea and I love to collaborate together. She has an unbelievable eye for creativity, and knows how to articulate in great detail, as you can tell. We really enjoy working together because we both are drawn to more of the conceptual editorial type of photography, and filmmaking. In our art, we love to draw out emotion from our audiences and viewers, to feel as though they were there with us. I can’t speak on both of our behalves, but I know we really wanted to capture the romantic boho bride that was comfortable in her own skin, and to not be afraid to step out of the traditional bride vibe. My favorite part of the entire shoot was when we decided to put the hat on top of her head with the veil flowing from behind. That right there, was what captured everything I hoped the shoot would be. Our model Rachel, was a dream to work with, and she captured the true essence of a strong, beautiful bride, who was so comfortable within her own skin. I love being a part of the wedding industry, expressing myself through film, and capturing peoples love stories from behind my lens, it’s an amazing view. I am so beyond honored that our shoot was chosen to be featured. We hope to inspire other brides to take a risk with their wedding look, and to feel nothing but beautiful, bold, and comfortable within their own skin, on their special day.
