Eclectic Bohemian Wedding at Calamigos Ranch
Sometimes we come across weddings that just look like so much FUN, and today’s definitely falls into that category. I mean, the couple kicked off their ceremony recessional with a five piece New Orleans style brass band parade down the aisle — it doesn’t get much better than that. Let’s take a closer look at this beautiful day put together with help from Gina & Ryan Photography, Two Roads Event Co., and Botanica:
From the bride, Tanja: My husband and I both have fairly eclectic styles so we wanted the wedding to emulate that as well as touch on our passions, music and the outdoors. I’d describe our wedding as: organic, whimsical, bohemian, rustic.
We didn’t have one specific theme or color scheme. In fact, when it came to colors, the focus was to keep with a sense of continuity but in an organic, natural way that complemented the venue and the overall outdoorsy feel. We mostly incorporated greenery for our flowers and used gems, crystals and other natural elements to add color and an eclectic touch. The colors of our bridal party were meant to tie in with the overall setting. The bridal party chose their own dresses within a color palette and the groomsmen wore different blue suits and brown shoes, with matching linen ties.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? My advise is to be true to yourselves. Use your relationship as the ultimate inspiration and let that come through in your big day. That was the most important aspect and what I believe made our day so incredible, aesthetically and emotionally. Also, don’t be afraid to take risks and an unconventional approach to things.
