Dramatic Jewel Toned Wedding Inspiration

There’s something so opulent about deep jewel tones, and we love that the creative team of Sweet Poppy Studios, Sealed With A Kiss Events, and Max Gill Designs combined this palette with bohemian styling for today’s styled shoot. The invitations and paper goods pair perfectly with the entire aesthetic, and the votive candles sprinkled along the tabletop? Perfection.

From the photographer, Sweet Poppy Studios: It’s no secret that Campovida is one of the most gorgeous venues in northern California and when Lara from Sealed with a Kiss Events and I received the opportunity to do an inspiration shoot there we jumped at the opportunity. We called a few of our all time favorite vendors (Max Gill on florals – can you say WOW?!) and pulled from a few resources we have been absolutely loving these days – Free People and West Elm. What Lara put together for me to capture was absolutely breathtaking and a shoot that will always be at the very top of my favorite list!

From the event designer, Lara of Sealed With A Kiss Events: I wanted to do something really unique and different, out of the box. I used inspiration from one of my favorite stores, West Elm, and combined it with unique elements from another favorite, Free People. Since I am usually designing a lot of weddings with light colors, I switched it up and did a combination of black, a deep blackberry color, amber, and gold. One of my all-time favorite florists, Max Gill, created a whimsical design for the bouquet and centerpieces that really brought the pieces from the table together. To highlight the funky tableware elements from West Elm, Brylo Studio created custom menus and place cards with the organic Free People theme in mind. Our lovely bride wore two different long white Free People dresses and had hair and makeup by the amazing Carrie Aldous. Carleigh Fager, from Sweet Poppy Studios, was my natural choice for a photographer as each shot tells part of the story of a couple as well as the day. Although this shoot is quite different from what I normally design, I love how it came together and expresses a sort of unique and funny style aesthetic.
