DIY Ace Hotel Wedding
We’ve been receiving an avalanche of weddings submitted by the brides themselves, and aren’t we loving it. This wedding sent by a long time reader is full of DIY ideas. I remember Tasha from the lovely comments section — and yes, I remember everyone who leaves a comment (hint, hint)! She now has an Etsy shop if you’re interested in any of her paper crafts.
From Tasha, the bride:
Creating this one special day with my husband was such a crazy-beautiful experience. By the time it was actually our wedding day we had put so much heart and soul into the details that we were able to just relax and let everyone love on us. We chose to have a small guest list so that we could spend time with everyone, not feel overwhelmed and to maintain the intimacy and integrity of how we felt about this moment in our lives. One of the best compliments we received from our guests was that at times during the night they forgot they were at an “event” because they felt like we could have been in our home they were so comfortable and cared for.
We chose the Ace because every time we visited we felt at home. The staff is so warm and unpretentious, the fire-pits on site and the amazing swimming pool with hammocks surrounding it all make for a sense of community and they always have rocking tunes playing.
Not only was the site beyond gorgeous as a backdrop for our event but it has so much personality as well. We tried to not out-do the space and just use it as inspiration when we were planning our event. Our friends and family all stayed and played at the Ace too. It really was by far the best week of my life with the wedding day as the world’s best cherry on top. I have never felt so surrounded by love. It was amazing.

My husband is the cutest 😉
As the proud mother of this beautiful bride and her handsome groom, I can say from first hand experience with them that these two love birds had SO much fun working on the wedding details together. It made the wedding so intimate, unique and personal to them. Planning way in advance helped and there were many weekends devoted to creating, shopping, talking about all the specific details. I was also very impressed at how many of their plans revolved around making the whole experience (the entire wedding week), special for their guests and families. It was an awesome event!!
Gorgeously unbelievable. What a fabulous job this couple did. Every detail is so personal, fun, well-edited, and most importantly well-executed.
