Destination Wedding in Tuscany
I’ve always said it’s tough to beat a destination wedding in Tuscany, and today I’ve got more proof. Janice and Nathan’s big day is everything a destination wedding should be – relaxed, intimate, and with a dash of elegance for good measure. Thanks to The Lazy Olive for the incredible venue, and Pia of peaches & mint for the brilliant film images!
From the bride, Janice: Our wedding celebration spanned three days, and we wanted the experience to be relaxed, intimate and memorable for our guests since they had travelled long distances to be with us in Tuscany. We hadn’t originally planned on getting married in Italy, but the beauty of the Crete Senesi and our desire to share such a stunning place with our loved ones was the deciding factor. The day before the wedding, we took our guests down to Pienza, had an amazing lunch at a farm called Podere Il Casale and then did a bit of wine tasting in Montepulciano. For the wedding day celebration, we drew inspiration from our location, the charming Podere Finerri (aka The Lazy Olive), and tried to create a feel that was rustic, elegant, and comfortable. The following afternoon, we enjoyed a laid-back brunch by the pool overlooking the beautiful Tuscan hills.
Bouquet recipe: Roses and peonies.
Our wedding colors were mainly pinks and neutrals as we thought that those would best complement the natural beauty of our surroundings. As for DIYs… My husband and I researched, planned and coordinated the guest outing to Pienza and Montepulciano. Other DIYs included the wedding invitations, programs, guest welcome bags and hand-written place cards. My husband’s lovely family helped us put together the programs the morning of the wedding.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Get organized early and hire a great wedding planner if it’s within your budget; the planning process can be intense, so having someone to help you stay sane and navigate through that is invaluable. Try to work with highly-reviewed vendors as much as possible – it will make your life significantly easier. Do what feels right for you and your future partner, and try not to put too much weight on other people’s opinions of how your wedding should be. The wedding day itself will be hectic, so at some point after the ceremony, try to find a moment alone with your new husband/wife and take it all in together. And finally, relax, have fun and make some great memories on your wedding day!

Nice shooting style on the part of the wedding photographer. I like to see the depth of field wander in and out throughout the collection. It gives your eye a much more comfortable range of locations to wander.
Very tasteful
