Destination Wedding in a Puerto Rican Rainforest
We are clicking our heels at the sight of Erica and Ronnie’s Puerto Rican rainforest wedding. Kara Marshall Events worked with Erica, an event planner herself, to design a tropical fete that had all the guests thankful for the destination of choice. Some of our favorite elements include the handpainted tile that graced both floor and table and the South American florals from Lorraine’s Flowers. This has to be the most stress-free destination wedding to date – and those hammocks at the reception are the proof in the pudding! Leave it to Lisa Blume Photography to tell a darling love story. So without further ado, we invite you to sit back, relax and drift off to this colorful Puerto Rican gathering.
Erica and Ronnie live in Washington, DC and planned a fun getaway to Puerto Rico for their nuptials. This fabulous event was filled with so much joy and fun surprises! The bride and groom kept their wedding location a surprise so the guests could see it for the first time with no preconceived notions or expectations. Their wedding invitation referred to it as “The House with No Walls.” When the guests boarded the buses they were told they were going to the foothills of El Yunque National Rain forest. The excitement was palpable. After the formal dances and dinner, Erica surprised the guests by having a playful wardrobe change.
Erica is a corporate event planner, so of course there was attention to detail and incredible decor including native florals, a temporary tattoo station and lots of witty signage. One of our favorite details were the tiles sourced from South America that were embellished with hand calligraphy and used as the placement cards.
Very nice pictures and venue
