Desert Oasis Wedding Inspiration with a Blue Iridescent Gown
Today’s oasis inspired story is driven by motion, bliss and intimacy in a vast desert landscape. With a dusty + neutral palette, the ethereal designs and florals from Janna Brown combine translucent details with climbing blooms and to us, it’s like a {Iridescent} in time. These soft images from Draper Gray will have your heart aching for more, just wait and see!
A soft glow from Natalia Issa doesn’t infringe on natural beauty, and mimicks the artistic calligraphy from Linen and Leaf that simply dances off the envelopes.
Handmade paper from Artfull Messages provide another textural element that simply refreshes our soul!
The classic round diamond engagement ring from Susie Saltzman is just the right amount of sparkle in the boundless landscape, don’t ya think?
Not to put it out in the universe or anything, but give us these Bella Belle or give us death!
From the photographer, Draper Gray: When conceptualizing a design for a shoot at Jean Dry Lake, Janna Brown of Janna Brown Design first considered the key elements that played a role in our editorial. The landscape and backdrop for our shoot was the most important variable, and was the determiner of the palette. Janna began breaking down elements to create inspiration through descriptive words about what she hoped to see captured. She arrived at her inspiration with the following: windswept fabrics, dusty tones, ethereal motions, painted skies, windblown hair, intimacy in the vastness. She then used these words to source images that inspired ideas for the editorial.
Janna sought images that would display windblown hair, windswept fabrics, intimate touch between the couple, dusty tones for the floral design, and a painted palette to inspire the calligrapher. A gown was sourced in a soft blue/Iridescent tone, which contrasted with the dry, muted tones of the landscape. The gown, from designer Carol Hannah, almost felt as if it added hydration to our set, thus, inspiring the name of the editorial, Oasis. Our bride symbolically represented a relief from the desolate, dry landscape of parched earth and barren mountains. On the day of our shoot, a wild storm–with whipping wind, bruised sky and fierce clouds–began to roll in, thus providing a dramatic, moody and perfect complement to the elements of the editorial. In fact, we couldn’t have planned it any better!
