This Costa Brava Destination Wedding Had The Sweetest Guest of Honor

Costabrava Spain Destinationwedding 22

This is it. This is the type of wedding that made me think, I’d totally model Gemma and David’s Costa Brava destination wedding as my dream wedding redo. Because if getting married at your own country house somewhere along the gorgeous Costa Brava region in Spain isn’t enough of a dream wedding, they also gathered with family, friends and the cutest guests ever. Their love for their animals was also clear by how they were honored and incorporated into wedding, like Gemma arriving at her ceremony riding a horse!

From the planner, Carole of Marry Me in Spain:

I have been working with Gemma and David for about 4 years as my florist/decorator vendor and l must confess that l got emotional when they asked me (Gemma and David) to help with their wedding.

The wedding took place in the middle of the Spanish beautiful countryside of Costa Brava in their familiar house farm (called here masía) surrounded by horses, cows, and sheep…

The wedding was on November as Gemma and David wanted to have the wedding season over and be able to enjoy completely their own stylish wedding.

We planned an autumnal wedding where Nature’s colors and elements were the true protagonists.

The colors of palette were the tones of light pink, beige and brown, cream and a touch of color with the fuschia. In terms of texture, we played with the velvet, the copper, feathers, wood, pampas grass.

The wedding was in the middle of the field with cows where we could hear the quiet sound of the cowbells. The first to walk down the aisle was the happy puppy dog (Gemma and David’s dog) with a lovely crown of flowers.

Gemma and David chose a century-old tree to shelter their altar. They decorated with hanging lanterns with led lights inside. The pampas grass was definitely everywhere to embrace the nature yet elegant style. And here comes the bride, on her childhood horse led by his father. Times truly stopped meanwhile everybody was watching her.

Unique things to stress out:
Guests tossed the couples at the exit with some small flowers and Dandelions. Magical.
The unique shoes of the bride: pink velvet and a golden artwork Tender Baby sheep we had during the appetizers (called merry) and the photo shooting.

The wooden seating plan made with a big aquarelle on an organic paper (the mother of the bride made it).

The unique and overflowed exuberant bridal bouquet

The reception was held into a tent with a big olive tree inside! We filled in with multiples small lights. That was simply stunning. The place names were personalized pieces of wood, the cloches with flowers, the organic cream table runner, the copper candlesticks and cutlery, the fine glassware gave the elegant and sophisticated touch

The reception went as late (or early?) as 6 am, and we prepared some campfire was set to gather everybody around the fire and share some marshmallows.

From the Bride:
When I saw David on the altar and we crossed our sights, I felt very happy and all the nerves disappeared. We gave each other the longest hug we’ve ever given each other, his caresses and his attentions comforted me every second. The atmosphere that was breathed was of much love and this feeling spread to all the guests.

We made all the decorations ourselves through our company Maitemach. We used earthy and warm colors, eucalyptus, ranunculus, roses, copper elements… to convey that romanticism that identifies us.

We decided to serve the appetizers in the old house garden, followed by a seated meal inside a big tent with a platform that set up Veleo. During the party, we opened the tent and lit campfires next to sofa and lounge area.

Being an autumn wedding, we wanted an aesthetic and a menu suitable to the season, with some French touches.

The catering El Molí de l’Escala knew exactly what we wanted, and they charmed us with their proposals. We welcomed the guests with a hot wine with spices, appetizers of the season and at lunch a traditional soup called “escudella amb galets”, one guinea fowl and of dessert our famous “tatin”…

Carole de Marry Me in Spain gave us the final support to make that day all perfect, we’ll never be able to thank her enough for everything she has done for us.

I wanted this romanticism to take shape, this peace in the photos. For it, we choose Gabby of En Route Photography. From the day David asked me to marry him, we knew we wanted to count on her on our day because her work has a lot of affinity to our way of being.

Those in charge of leaving witness with the images and sound of all these wonderful moments were Visiondpelicula with an amazing video we can’t wait to watch.

The photobooth realized for Smybox, He enlivened our guests by taking pictures of them with props during the aperitif. They were careful to put together a beautiful album that we enjoyed very much during breakfast the next morning.

All the furniture was provided by Miquel of Opera Opera Lloguers. We were able to recreate that rustic, country and elegant atmosphere we were looking for.

The lighting was taken care of by Match So i Llum. With its vintage bulbs in the trees, garlands, and lights we could create that soft and romantic atmosphere that we were looking for so that the flame of candles and fires would not lose its charm.

All the Stationery were made by The Summer Love from the color range of the flowers we wanted for our decoration.

The seating plan was a giant watercolor board that my mother made, and each guest was able to take a piece of the painting with his name written down.

Albert of Beats & Roll accompanied us all day by putting appropriate music in every moment and place and finished livening the party, we danced until the sunrise.

The party started with a live band called Pelukass. A great party that we all enjoy dancing and singing at the top of our lungs.

Paula and Pere of Cortal Gran made service of the open bar, delighted us with their cocktails and long drinks.

Bimba’s Cakes prepared us a lovely cake that we served during the party.

Estarriol moved the guests in minibus between the hotels and the farm.

The honeymoon was prepared for us by Kuoni, we had 17 wonderful days of light and sea in Thudufushi.

It was a wonderful day, we will all keep the memory deep in our hearts.
