Colorful Wedding Inspiration with Mid-Century Gumption
This colorful wedding inspiration has got some serious gumption! Retro details like the Model A Ford pay homage to the couple’s personality, and we’re not sure their wedding decor could possibly be any more jazzy. Bright paper fans bedeck the dessert backdrop as pink, peach and tangerine accents color the reception tables. It didn’t take us long to see why these images from Raya Carlisle Photography are making a splash, so prepare to fall in love!
From the rentals team, Archive Rentals: What do you get when Mid-Century-Modern meets urban garden? A colorful wedding at SmogShoppe perfectly created for Steven and Christy. As an ode to the couple’s last name, Carr, this wedding had retro flair and plenty of cars! To kick off the ceremony, the bride was driven to the venue in her father’s 1931 Model A Ford, which had been in the family for over sixty years. Later, each guest would find their seat with a name card attached to a vintage matchbox car to keep.
The ceremony space, surrounded by the countless plants and succulent walls, made a lovely setting for friends and family, who were seated on a mix of rustic benches and modern Eiffel chairs. As the couple sealed their “I Do’s” with a kiss, the space was transformed into cocktail hour.Specialty craft cocktails were served in copper mule mugs and colorful pink and teal goblets from Archive Rentals. The Model A Ford was parked adjacent to the bar to serve as the perfect photo backdrop. The florals, by Krista Jon Floral, brought a powerful punch of color into the lounge with yellow and pink peonies that adorned a midcentury modern table in the lounge. A red and turquoise velvet sofa from Archive Rentals gave the space a touch of glamour. As the venue doors were rolled up to reveal the vintage-modern reception area, guests made their way to their seats for dinner.
To keep things eclectic, the tables were a mix of sleek white modern Saarinen tables and rustic reclaimed wood tables, each with matching chairs. The tabletop consisted of white mixed china dinner plates, vintage blush glass salad plates, brass flatware, and crystal and blush goblets. Bright floral centerpieces added cheer to every table. After dinner was served, folks indulged in the dessert display, where yummy treats awaited them. A teal Mid-Century sideboard topped with colorful paper fans, was the perfect setting for the cake. Once the cake was cut and desserts were eaten, everyone danced the night away, with the bride and groom front and center on the dance floor.
