Colorful Italian Wedding
How could anyone resist this lovingly handmade and whimsical wedding from L&V Photography? Bride Elena is actually a wedding blogger herself – helping to share beautiful Italian weddings and inspiration – so it’s only natural that her own wedding would be filled to the brim with beautiful details and stunning flowers from Il Profumo Dei Fiori.
From the bride, Elena: We wanted an outdoor and informal celebration, with a slight vintage feel, lots of color, big smiles and tears of happiness. The beautiful hills of Oltrepò Pavese were the perfect location and we were so lucky to have an outdoor ceremony with a stunning view. We had an intimate wedding with only 40 guests, just family and close friends. We were so happy to get married after 8 years together and we wanted our wedding to reflect our joy. It was a wonderful day and it felt very “us.”
Bouquet recipe: Hydrangeas, roses, dahlias, carnations, astilbe, chamomile, garden roses, berries and craspedia.
We wanted our wedding to be colorful and joyful with a late 50s-early 60s vibe. I chose a color scheme of red, light blue and pink with pops of yellow. We had several DIY projects for our wedding day. I’m a wedding blogger and Gabriele is a graphic designer so we wanted our wedding to feel as much personal as possible. We made over 100 paper pinwheels in different colors and size. I designed all the stationery, invitations, menu, table numbers, program fans and signs, with a little help from Gabriele. The music was a DIY project too, I spent the months leading to the wedding scouring the web for the most beautiful songs of the 50s and 60s to play during the reception. Gabriele made the oversized letters, we used them for our engagement session and then again on our wedding day as reception decor. Our family helped a lot, my grandmother made my 50s style wedding dress, my cousin did my hair and my bridesmaids were very supportive and helped us with the last details.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? I would advise to delegate small tasks to family and friends who are willing to help. Also don’t skimp on wedding photography. Leti and Viola of L&V Photography made an amazing job capturing every detail and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We will cherish these photos forever.
