Colorful Boho Wedding at Historic Cedarwood
Oodles of gorgeous pinks, tons of lush greenery, an inspiring bohemian ceremony backdrop, and beautiful flowers everywhere you look make this wedding from Teale Photography and Cedarwood Weddings one for the books. If anything, this wedding proves that fuchsia is nothing less than a color for all seasons!
From the bride, Larin: We wanted to create an environment that blended rustic elegance with the organic warmth of a backyard bash. Capitalizing on the raw beauty of Cedarwood Weddings, our styling was romantic, playful, and totally us! I wanted our personal style to shine through in the details – and our guests definitely noticed! The color scheme, inspired by my bedroom pillows actually, was intended to complement the natural setting – blush to vibrant pinks, lush greenery, and mixed metals.
Bouquet recipe: My bouquet was a textural masterpiece of king protea, peonies, ranunculus, roselily, varied roses, hydrangea, wax flower, seeded eucalyptus, and cascading jasmine vine. It was so heavy, but I didn’t want to put it down all night!
From the very beginning, I knew I wanted our altar to be a lasting artifact we could display in our home. I created this free-flowing installation to give the already beautiful backdrop a layer of depth and whimsy. The pinks and florals were perfectly juxtaposed with more masculine accents – woods, skulls, antlers, and other raw materials to create an earthy vibe. And if my husband loves anything more than me, it’s his country – insert American flag everywhere.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Be you and have fun with it! Enjoy making each little decision – just try to make them only once! If you’re into DIY and questioning what to take-on yourself – I urge you to commit to at least one project! Just be sure to give yourself plenty of time, and you’ll be happy you did. Give your bridesmaids the opportunity to shine! I’m so thrilled each of the girls’ dresses wove their personalities into our day. Pick a venue that you find aesthetically special, even in it barest form, to be your canvas. Cedarwood Weddings offers guests a variety of settings on one property and the effortless flow from one to the next kept guests on their toes! Offer out-of-town guests a taste of your hometown, even if it is adopted. For us that meant a historic property exuding Southern charm, a bluegrass duo in the barn cocktail hour, and late-night hot chicken bites! And, let’s not underestimate the power of Southern folklore – our buried bottle of bourbon diverted a storm! Choose an experienced team and you’ll sleep better. Entrusting my vision to one holistic team made planning a (really fun) breeze – thank you for bringing our vision to life!
