From the bride, Kate: We grew up in opposite corners of the country, literal opposite islands (Tug in The San Juans and Kate in The Keys). Our relationship began when we met in Colorado during college, where we shared both a balcony in the dorms and a love for late-night pizza. We eventually moved to Portland Oregon, but we always knew we wanted a Colorado mountain-wedding. When we decided to get married after 8 years of being together, our primary goal was to throw an epic party for our friends. We both love the outdoors but knew we wanted a Fall wedding, so we decided that our goal was to “bring the outdoors in.” We wanted a whimsical, bohemian vibe, which our planner and vendors nailed. We didn’t want any traditions that felt cliché; we wanted our dream wedding to be the perfect balance of chic and funky, while remaining intimate and comfortable for our guests.
