From the bride, Alli: Almost all of our guests were traveling from out of state to celebrate with us, and we really wanted them to experience a beautiful evening outdoors in the mountains of Colorado. The weather turned out to be perfect and the sound of the Chicago creek running throughout the day and night was so peaceful.
We asked my grandfather to officiate our marriage and he happily agreed. Having him be a part of our day in that way made it even more special. We decided to write our own vows and read them to each other separate from our ceremony. We did this because we wanted to make time for an intimate moment to ourselves that day, and we also wanted to keep the promises we made to each other between the two of us. It was a sweet quiet moment we will always cherish.
We decided not to help each other shop for our dress and suit leading up to our day. We wanted to keep that part a complete surprise, but we gifted each other the ring box and cufflinks to hold our rings and to add a personal touch to his suit. I love this because these are two items we can use beyond our wedding day, but they will always hold a special meaning to us.

You guys… these tray-passed goodies from Occasions Catering have us debating a trip to Colorado for a menu tasting.
The overall aesthetic we tried to accomplish was romantic and bright. We wanted our flowers to have pops of bright colors and tried to keep the remaining decor and accessories simple with accents of gold and blush. We loved how everything came together in the end and felt it was the perfect blend of simple and elegant.

One of my favorite moments of the day was immediately after our first dance ended, the DJ started playing dance music and all of our friends came out on the dance floor to dance with us. We used to go out dancing with our friends quite often, so to have everyone together dancing again on our wedding day was so special.

Our wedding day was far more perfect than we had hoped it would be. We are so blessed to have so many friends and family willing to travel to celebrate with us. Ever since then we have been reminiscing on how amazing of a day it was, it was the perfect day to begin our forever.
