City Glam Vancouver Wedding
When you have a pet as cute as Robyn and Dave’s French Bulldog Lola, you just can’t fight the urge to include her in your wedding day. Christie Graham Photography, Smitten Events, and Delovely Creative were more than happy to accommodate Lola’s presence both in the wedding day itself and in the event decor, from the place cards to the dessert bar to the actual ceremony!
From the event planners, Smitten Events: Robyn & Dave love their French Bulldog, Lola, just about as much as they love each other. When it came to planning the decor elements for their wedding at Brix Restaurant & Wine Bar in Vancouver, BC, they made sure that Lola was well represented. Images of French Bulldog’s adorned signage, took the form of place cards, looked regal on wine bottles and even guarded the sweets tables as statuettes. Add to this element Robyn’s love for all things black, gold and polka-dotted, and their elegant, intimate wedding came together in a beautiful way.
Robyn, who is a wedding planner with Smitten Events, worked tirelessly to ensure that every little detail of their wedding celebration was not only special for her and Dave, but for their 65 guests. A circle ceremony in the courtyard under a canopy of cafe lights, family style tables done up in black and gold polka dots, vintage brass vessels filled with jewel toned florals and tons of candlelight made their wedding extraordinary for friends and family. Guests enjoyed custom cocktails and dined on a gourmet, four-course meal, then were treated to an epic sweets table which included Robyn’s Mom’s homemade apple pies among the selection of favourite desserts. Candies were displayed artfully on a vintage bar cart and the couple’s last name, Lemon, was recognized with details like lemon candy favours and a sparkly marquee sign. It’s hard to pick just one favourite element of Robyn & Dave’s wedding but perhaps the sweetest was the way they included Lola. Not only was Lola’s image a common theme, Lola herself marched proudly down the aisle as part of the processional and stood by as Robyn & Dave said, “I Do!”
