Chic Niagara-on-the-Lake Vineyard Wedding
It won’t come as much of a surprise, but whenever we hear a bride wanted an outdoor wedding with fresh flowers at every turn and a bouquet that “looks like [the bride] just stepped out of the garden,” we get a little extra pep in our step. Bloom & Co. did not disappoint as floral designer for Adriana and Mike’s Canada wedding, while Blush & Bowties helped implement all the little details to make the day perfect for the couple. Simply Lace Photography captured it all, so let’s take a look at their images!
From the bride, Adriana: The inspiration for my wedding style originated from Mike and I’s love for anything vintage and rustic. We both also have a deep love of the outdoors, and needed a venue where we could be in an outside space. Banquet halls just weren’t doing it for us. I wanted it to feel light and whimsical, with twinkling lights everywhere and fresh flowers at every turn (I love flowers!). The colour scheme I chose was natural tones; greens, browns, beiges, with accents of purple and gold. I literally wanted my bouquet to look like I just stepped out of the garden.
I remember the first day that we both saw the venue. It was a hot summer Saturday afternoon, and my fiancé and I were visiting Niagara on the Lake. I remember telling Michael (my fiancé) how much I just loved the vibe I got from being in that area. I couldn’t think or picture any place more beautiful to have our wedding. It was literally the first venue we had looked at. Afterwards any venue we saw couldn’t even compare. We always knew that Kurtz Orchards was the one! My favourite wedding moment was when we entered our venue, sat down, and got an opportunity to just stop, and look around at everything we had created, with all our beautiful guests in between it all. It was a memory I will truly never forget.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? My advice for any couple planning their wedding, is to just literally take it day by day. Rome wasn’t built in one day. Everything will get done, and try to enjoy the process. I now know how stressful and daunting planning a wedding can be, and I totally have so much more respect for brides, and wedding planners, and all wedding vendors in between. Stay as patient and calm as you can. Yoga, at least twice a week, really helped me distress! Try to do something for yourself and your husband to be at least once a week in between all the wedding planning craziness to remind yourself of why you’re doing all of it.
