A Romantic Chateau Wedding In Burgundy, France
C’est magnifique. Those were the only words that houdinied their way past our awe-parted lips as we first witnessed this romantic chateau wedding in Burgundy, France captured by Thomas Audiffren. Waves of sherbert colored roses (a joyful blend of peaches, corals, pinks and creams) ripple through the impossibly lush ceremony backdrop from Les Ephémères, itself sitting before an impossibly stately chateau. “Is that the very color that used to shine from the coat of my childhood Irish setter?” I can’t help but think to myself that this stoic and grandiose venue is a beacon of long-lost memories for many a viewer. Endorphin tank full from this recent boost of sentiment, I’m utterly starstruck as I gaze upon this ode to French elegance as masterfully designed by Cher Amour. Fellow Francophiles, I invite you to bask in the glory of this sophisticated and glamorous fête with us below.
From the planner, Camille Guigou from Cher Amour: My Dear Love – Mon Cher Amour – we say, “??It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye”. Yet, here in Burgundy, I want you to feel the beauty of love. To take a step back through time, and (re)discover the kindness of a love epistle. A poem between two lovers.
It is, in this world of enchantment and delicacy, at leDomaine du Réveillon, that this wedding took place. While crafting what will turn into a lifetime of souvenirs, I wanted to inspire my future brides and grooms to live a unique experience. A moment of felicity in the heart of Burgundy, land of History and French Gastronomy. A bespoke menu created just for the occasion, with the most exquisite delicacies. Mercurey Premier Cru, “Escargot à la française”, it was all about embodying this “French Art de Vivre”. But most importantly, it was about reminiscing the beauty of being together and celebrating one of life’s most precious gifts: love.
The design, in all its elements, from the tiniest detail to the harmony of the day, was about experiencing love in its purest and most sincere element. This is why I have chosen this beautiful team to accompany me on this adventure.
However, this delightful day started way before the wedding day itself. Atelier Preszburger crafted unique paper products by hand with a golden monogram, where the peach and blush ribbons brought the last touch of refinement. Elegance in all its subtlety. While using pastel hues, and floral details, we wanted the guests to feel this soothing romance at the exact instant they opened their invitation. A feeling to be felt from that moment until the wedding day.
No details have been spared to create an other-worldly atmosphere. Les Ephemeres went for a Renaissance style with a twist of English Garden for her floral design. In accordance with the stationary and venue, the tones were light and airy from the ceremony set-up to the table setting.
Collaborating with the porcelain designer Raynaud Limoges, the dinner table was an ode to French elegance, with the table set “à la française”. wedding cakes and co’s masterpiece was the ultimate addition to the glamorous atmosphere. Chic and enchanting, the cake was both scrumptious and perfectly in accordance with the floral arrangement.
Naturally, those beautiful surroundings were a mere mirage without our beautiful couple. Our dazzling bride wore a stunning gown from Galia Lahav with Bella Belle Shoes, and a make-up signed by Antalya. After discovering her love letter, she couldn’t resist running down the romantic stairway to meet her very dapper husband-to-be in a RIVES Tuxedo for their first look. The ceremony, perfectly captured by the videographer Thomas Augier, took place in the gardens, and even before you know it, the party started, and the bride changed into her alluring second Galia Lahav gown.
Together, we have created memories to cherish, and stories to tell, that the Film Photographer Thomas Audiffren beautifully captured to bring us back once again to this beautiful day
When we’re frequented by grand slams, you know we’ve got to share ’em! And this chateau wedding in Burgundy, France is one of the best we’ve seen. Joining the ranks with outstanding French weddings like this glam Riviera soirée and this apple + pear infused Normandy wedding, this sophisticatedly lush dream is utterly surreal.
