Cabo San Lucas Destination Wedding Beneath Twinkle Lights
Less is more in this sweet Cabo San Lucas destination wedding. A dash of fruit. A flourish of native blooms. A simple, sleek gown that’s a structural masterpiece… Essentially, to this wedding we say “You rock. Don’t ever change.” A familiar vacation spot for Christine and Matt, this elegant, spacious farm didn’t need much transformation before they said “I do”, and we are wholeheartedly in love with every detail.
Film and digital photography team, Ana & Jerome, harnessed a brilliant glow of light as they documented the day.
Alexandra Grecco is known for her modern + effortless wedding gown designs, and this flowy statement maker is sweet as honey!
Pina Hernandez created loose arrangements of cream, butter yellow and tender shades of pink. A conglomeration of local blooms, we are loving the dimension!
We don’t know how this happened… but it’s so, so right.
These papel picado invites from Bells & Whistles Designs are the perfect preview for their al fresco Mexico fete. Remember how we shared different ways to infuse local flair into your wedding? Well this is a perfect example!
Femme blush bridesmaid gowns from Jenny Yoo provided the perfect mismatched look for these gals. Strapless + sleek. Off-the-shoulder romance. Classic ruffled halter. Which one is your fave?
From the bride, Christine: We met in statistics class in the second semester of our sophomore year of college (Spring 2010). We didn’t start dating until March 2014 and got engaged April 2017 and married in March 2018. Matt surprised me with a trip to Puerto Rico in April 2017. I met him for dinner after work on a Friday night and thought nothing of it. As we were leaving the restaurant, he grabbed a duffel bag from the host stand. He called a taxi for us to go home, but the taxi took us to the airport instead. He had booked our flights, packed a bag for me, and whisked me away to Puerto Rico for the weekend. We landed around 5am and by the time we got to the resort, the sun was rising and he proposed on the beach. We spent the rest of the weekend celebrating. It was a total surprise and I couldn’t believe he pulled it off!!
We first traveled to Cabo in April 2016 and immediately fell in love. We went to Flora Farms for dinner that weekend and it quickly became one of our favorite restaurants ever. We went back to Cabo a few more times, each time we ate dinner at Flora Farms at least once. After one of our trips, we tossed around the idea of getting married in Cabo and the more we discussed it, we decided it was the perfect option for us. My grandmother passed away in May 2017, and she passed down her diamond rings to my sister and me. We turned the rings into necklaces and both wore them that day. I wanted to let the beauty of the farm speak for itself, so I opted for very simple décor. I wanted neutral flowers (ivory and blush) and gold accents in lanterns, votives, etc. I used inspiration from previous weddings to bring all of my different ideas together.
Once we were seated for the dinner, Matt and I made sure to take a moment to ourselves to appreciate all the hard work that had gone into planning the wedding. It was crazy to see everything come together so beautifully. We also looked around the tables and talked about how special it was for each of our guests to travel such distances to be with us that day.
A combination of pieces from Let it Be Events and Del Cabo Events brought this communal farmhouse table to life!
It was important to us to use the time before the wedding to really slow down and fully enjoy the day. Matt and his groomsmen got ready at Acre – they started the day with yoga, played with puppies, relaxed by the pool, and got ready in treehouses. The girls got ready at the resort and used the day for pampering. We knew once the ceremony started that everything would fly by so we wanted to enjoy our mornings with our bridal parties.
Blanc Bridal Salon was the glam squad for the day, and we’re pretty sure Christine and all her ‘maids look Red Carpet ready.
We worked really hard on picking the best songs for each moment. We felt like the “playlists” were a hit with the guests and many made comments to us about how they loved the music selection.
When we read our vows to each other, it felt like no one else was there with us. It was such a special moment to be able to look at each other and really speak from the heart about what had gotten us to that point and how we would continue to support each other in the future. I am so glad that we decided to write our own vows – it added a special touch to the day.
