British Columbia Beach Wedding
This Canadian wedding from Erin Wallis Photography is full of the creamiest pastels, frilly wedding cakes, and beach-y beauty beyond our wildest imaginations. Everything about this wedding is right out of our wedding dreams, from the bridesmaids dressed in white to the waterside ceremony.
From the bride, Steph: We met through a mutual friend but had our first kiss on the Lucky Bar dance floor in Victoria. We are both super into music, so when we lived in Victoria we went to Lucky Bar almost every Saturday. We always try to go to Lucky Bar when we are back in town with all of our friends and had our going away party there when we moved to SF.
We chose Tofino because its our favorite place to get away on the west coast. We go there a few times a year to surf, spa and get away from the city. We have been going there since we met and both really love it there. I think we both knew we would always get married there and wanted to share its beauty with our friends and family.
The wedding palette was really inspired by my dress. I found it online right when we got engaged and the blush color and simplicity of it really inspired the entire wedding theme.
We wanted the environment to feel rustic and truly west coast, so we used elements like wood risers, natural textures, wild flowers, and had lavender scented candles that made the whole room smell amazing.
Our reception venue had huge vaulted ceilings, so to make it feel more intimate we strung globe lights throughout the whole hall. The guys got really creative with this, as we weren’t allowed to string anything from the roof. It turned out amazing and created a romantic feeling of being outdoors.
My favorite part of the day was standing at the top of the stairs overlooking the beach with my dad right before we walked down the aisle. It was a really calm moment where I could overlook the whole ceremony and see everyone I love gathered on the beach to celebrate with us. I thought I would be nervous, but when Bon Iver’s “Holocene” came on, and we started to walk down the aisle, everyone else faded away and I was filled with excitement and happiness that I was about to marry the man of my dreams in the most beautiful place in the world.
From Erin Wallis Photography: She’s a little shy, super sweet and oozes stylish awesomeness. He’s sincere, genuine and makes you want to know more. When I arrived and laid eyes on Steph’s blush colored Ivy and Aster dress, and the bridesmaids white dresses, I almost jumped out of my skin with excitement. Everything was dreamy. They were married at a low tide on Tofino’s picturesque South Chesterman beach. Living in San Francisco they would venture to Tofino as often as possible, to surf, spa and relax. They both knew they would always get married there as they wanted to share its beauty with friends and family. Exactly as imagined they were surrounded with the adoring eyes of their cherished family and friends. They wound up with the most magical wedding weather combination in history. Sunshine and fog. Perfectly West Coast. Perfectly dreamy and so well suited to their sweet, whimsical wedding. It was a wedding that brilliantly displayed that with your wedding, anything is possible.
Tofino, BC comes with a distinct air of magic, and coupled with the intense love of a stunning couple… amazing florals, the thoughtful and whimsical colours, raw oyster bar, photo booth and a seriously fun wedding party… it was a combination that dreams are truly made of. Everything was executed flawlessly even the details out of their control, the fog rolling in around their ceremony, the sunlight peeking through at them at all the right moments and the surfers riding the waves in the background. A breathtaking reflection of such a laid back, meaningful and romantic celebration of a truly unique and lovely couple.

Thank you so much for featuring this amazing wedding!!! Steph and Scott are truly incredible and I’m so honoured to have shared their amazing day! Thank you Ruffled Lovelies!!! xoxo
Holy gorgeousness, this is just too, too much! I can’t even decide what I love the most about this wedding, it’s just all so lovely and laid-back and the light is just perfect. Erin Wallis, you are truly a force to be reckoned with, this is some of your best work to date. Just when I think you can’t possibly get any better… you blow me away again with your magic. Massive congratulations to everyone, I ADORE this wedding!
Oh my gosh, the shot of the ceremony on the British Columbia shoreline is epic!! With the fog and trees and woodsy details this wedding has a casual (but still totally romantic!) rustic feel that is so different from most traditional beach weddings. Love it!
Absolutely Breath-taking. I agree with Cheri… not your typical beach wedding. The flower girl is precious and her dress is adorable.
I thought the use of wood throughout was very beautiful and thoughtful. Haveing a little “stump” lining each row of seats was a very striking image. Also, using the same wooden surface effect for the centerpieces was nice.
Gorgeous beach wedding.. gorgeous dress 🙂
Congrats guys oxox
gorgeous florals!
Wow what a breathtaking wedding. Love that dress.
What an incredible location!! I love the rustic and organic feel of this wedding. From the bouquets to the wedding cake everything is very natural and romantic.
Love that image of the bride with the dog. He has the funniest expression on his face, like “what the heck are you doing”? Was there a dust storm going on behind the couple in some of the pictures – they look very yellow and dusty? The rings and all the other detail shots are beautiful. Congratulations to the bride and groom – you guys look very happy!
We.are.in.love. What a truly dreamy wedding! Especially love the photo of the bride and her maids, walking on the sand into the ocean… lovely.
Absolutely gorgeous wedding!! It’s so dreamy, with just that perfect combination of feminine floral touches with a hint of rustic charm = a definite winner! Love the lil’ flower girl and her outfit, as well as the pic of the bride with the dog!
Lovely place for the wedding. The beach front is so big that it can actually host a big occasion such as this. I like the idea of walking barefoot on the sandy beach.
I simply love your wedding. The men’s style is impeccable. I saw that it is asos. Do you recall which specific pants and vest it is?
What a gorgeous setting, beautiful details and photos… really lovely!
these.photos.are.STUNNING!!! truly captured the joy and beauty of the day, and it looked like everyone was having FUN! so important.. 🙂
