Bright Farmers Market Wedding Editorial
One of my all-time favorite warm weather activities is heading to the farmers market to admire the incredible colors and pick up some fresh fruits and veggies in the process. This market inspired wedding from Christine McGuigan and Basic Bash Events is just what you’d expect — full of color, citrus, and blooming flowers!
From the event designers, Basic Bash Events: Summer is our absolute favorite season for so many reasons. The sun is warm and bright, farmer’s markets are full of fresh flowers and fruit, and life just seems to get sweeter. We wanted to create a styled shoot that encompassed our love for summer’s brightness, sweetness, and fun! Our shoot started in the beautiful, window-lit bridal suite at A View on State. The bride and her maid of honor enjoyed grapefruit mimosas while getting ready and then met up with the groom and best man for the ceremony and portraits. Our bridal party was absolutely amazing and they all had a blast being models for a day!
We wanted the shoot to have a laid back feel with a hint of elegance, so the lace Allure Romance dress from Spotlight Formal Wear was the perfect pick. To compliment the bride’s look, the maid of honor wore a coral Alexia gown and the men looked dapper in suspenders and bow ties. A View on State is a modern, beautifully neutral-toned space, so there were many opportunities to add pops of color and the circular geometry of citrus fruit to the scene. Bright florals and fresh-cut citrus were everywhere (it all smelled so delicious!), including in vases next to the streamer backdrop and on the dessert display.
The mouthwatering desserts from Alotta Brownies Bakery included mini pineapple upside down cakes, molten chocolate bites, mini oreo cheesecakes, and more! Believe us, they tasted exactly as divine as they looked. The invitation suite and escort cards by Meldeen were so creative and specially designed with the ideas of bright summer citrus in mind. The geometric features and splashes of watercolor went beautifully with the rest of the citrus decor– and we love how the escort cards were held by real clementines at each place setting. We couldn’t have done this shoot without the beautiful photography by Christine McGuigan!
