Breathtaking Greek Destination Wedding
Boy, do we have a treat for you! Today’s Grecian destination wedding is truly hypnotic. Robert and Joy’s wedding celebration was a harmonious fusion of cultural traditions from both the east and west! Their ceremony included everything from a gold-dusted gown that trailed gracefully between lush aisle-marking fronds to pale blue tapers and stately urns overflowing with blooms. Thanks to White Ribbon Events and Red Box Days, the reception was a mix of both personal and editorial elements (we can’t get enough of their “picture”-esque seating chart!). These photos from Nadia Meli are sure to have you booking the next flight to Greece!
From the event planner, Vana of White Ribbon Events: Robert and Joy met in their freshman year of college and two years later, after many dorm cafeteria dinners, they started dating. They spent a long time living apart while they completed their studies but then Robert popped the question and the couple decided to travel all the way from the US to Greece to tie the knot!
The wedding took place in Monemvasia, in the beautiful Peloponnese early July. The couple had guests travel from different corners of the world to celebrate with them. The celebrations commenced with a wine tasting and tour of the castle of Monemvasia followed with a sunset rehearsal dinner the following day.
On the day the godfather of the bride coordinated the emotional ceremony where the couple exchanged their vows in front of their family and friends. Dinner was later set on a balcony overlooking the beautiful olive groves of the Lakonian region. Our décor was inspired by the Chinese heritage of the bride and the color red which is the traditional bridal color in the Chinese culture merged with elements of the Greek nature and finished off with beautiful gold details. It was a beautiful celebration of close family and friends surround the couple with love!
Breathtaking! As a Greek, it’s always such an honour to see couples from all around the world choose Greece for their most special day!
Love that it is in Greece and all the soft muted colors
