Bohemian Historic Cedarwood Inspiration
When it comes to bohemian style, we’re always up for a good inspiration shoot. And when it comes to inspiring decor and beyond gorgeous scenery, Cedarwood Weddings never seems to disappoint! This time they worked with intern and photographer Abby Weeden Photography and Design to bring together a succulent- and metallic-filled session heavy with boho influence, and we think you’ll love the result.
From Linda Wright of Cedarwood Weddings: The Cedarwood Design Team recognizes that “Bohemian” is much more than simply a style. It is a state of mind. Inspired by the raw beauty of Cedarwood’s Nature Preserve, we decided to indulge our inner bohemians and create something unique and modern with ancient roots. The Bohemian way of life can transfer in to so many different cultures and the Cherokee Indian heritage that is so present in Tennessee encouraged us to focus on a more tribal form of Boho. Thus, “Native Bohemian” was born.
Flash Tattoos was a huge influence in the design of this shoot. We’ve been long time fans of their products and the geometric gold and silver shapes of their faux tattoos carried over into our paper goods and even dining elements. These sharp shapes were counteracted by rounded, whimsical, and authentic dream catchers and drums, made by Native craftsmen in Cherokee, North Carolina. Cedarwood’s vintage Airstream Trailer adds a retro feel to the shoot that was inspired by these geometric influences.
Our staff was thrilled to put their creative spin on this styling. Not only did our girls design and style the shoot, but they modeled in it and contributed intricate pieces from their private collections to fine tune this look. The clothing design was intentionally an eclectic collection that came together in a cohesive fashion. For the floral design and bouquets, we utilized foliage, succulents, berries and feathers in muted tones to highlight the earthiness of native style. We also tied these elements in to the attire for the style shoot with leg and ankle wraps adorning our bridesmaids. This blended flawlessly with the natural surroundings of Cedarwood’s 50 acre venue.
